Auto Motor and Sport show new 2010 Saab 9-5 imagery

March 12, 2009 in Archive

Auto Motor and Sport – the Swedish version – have procured some images from automotive artists, Automedia. They say they’ve got some reasonable inside info as to what the 2010 Saab 9-5 will look like.
They’ve produced these CGIs based on that insider knowledge. My guess is they’ve also tried to follow the lines of the disguised Saab 9-5s we’ve been seeing in spyshots.
There are teeny tiny versions of the images. Click through to Auto Motor and Sport for massive images that you can pour over and critique to your heart’s content.

AMS’s Par Brandt, otherwise known as my Stockholm pizza buddy, has posed a question in his article as to whether the illustrations are accurate. He’s hoping for some Saab employees to chime in via AMS comments and confirm. It’ll be interesting to see what turns up.

I can’t stress enough that these are only CGI’s.
As such, they’re not the real thing and will look nowhere near as good as the car in the metal. If you don’t find yourself falling in love with these, don’t stress about it. Wait for the real thing.
Personally, I really like the rear view but the front…..not so much with this rendering. I also think there’s going to be definite differences with regards to the badging. From what we’ve recently learned, Saab are going to use the SAAB wordmark a lot more, and the 2010 Saab 9-5 is the car that will set that off.
Over all, I think this looks like a pretty solid sedan. Think of it looking 10x better in the metal, then another 10x better in a performance version of the car.

Thanks ctm!
