Another Saab on fire!

by Swade on July 6, 2009

What is this – Saab fire season?!?!
First there was Kaylan’s 9000 toasting itself and now, this beautiful 900 convertible that caught fire in Luxembourg. A technical fault has been blamed for the black beauty being broken, blighted and blasted by blaze.
Saabnuts – protect your Saab, please! Or at least carry a bag of marshmallows and a camera.

Well, every car with liquid fuel has the potential to burn, an electrical fault at the wrong place can ignite any car, and most electrical components comes from a very limited number of suppliers. I’ve seen some statistics from Sweden, and Saabs are quite better than average, but it does happen. In fact, quite a bit of burning cars happens, it just doesn’t make the news.

damn what a shame! Looked to be a really nice example of a c900 convertible, and even with 16″ Aeros!

My first Saab was destroyed by a “young driver” so I know what it means to loose a Saab. We were watching old pictures in the computer withm my 5 year old daughter this weekend and when she saw our black 9000 she started crying. We have never had such emotional attitude to the car before we started driving Saabs

Do I spy another Saab in the upper-right hand corner, behind the lady in violet? It might be my eyes playing tricks on me + the power of suggestion, but it looks liek a NG900 to me.

I’ll still buy those singed deep dish wheels of that owner…

A technical fault you say? I think the problem may have had to do with the tree that the car is wedged into.

Remember the good ole days of B-engine turbos??? Just leave the oil cap off and flame-on after a couple of minutes running.
This one was prolly caused by a broken oil cooler or line…just spray it on a hot manifold and it WILL be marshmallow time, no need to call the fire dept.
