Death of an Aero

by Swade on July 1, 2009

It’s been a long time since I’ve written anything about Kaylan’s rather amazing 2-door 600hp Saab 9000 Aero. I used to do reasonably regular updates on the car but I guess she and I dropped off each other’s radar a little, especially with all this Saab sale stuff.
This was the car at it’s most recent best:

And this is the most recent update photo on Kaylan’s facebook page.

Given that she’s made the update there, I’m assuming that she and anyone else who was around is physically OK.
I’m not sure at all what happened, but I know a little about the number of years she put into building that car up. It was a bit of a legend back in Washington, as I understand.
Kaylan, I really hope you can get back on the horse[power] soon.

I hope everyone is alright, and I’m sorry to see that Aero. Loved the (new) Inca wheels.

According to her site at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/814237: On May 7th 2009 at 4:30PM all of my hard work was taken from me in less than 20 minutes. I stood and watched as my car burned to the ground. It took two local fire departments 20 minutes to get to the scene of the fire. It was a complete loss and hardly anything is salvagable. Thanks for everyones continued support. Keep an eye out for my new ride page to pop up and be prepared for something bigger and better than anything I have built before.
