A note for Saab 9-3 owners with corroded or snapping springs

I received this from TedY through the week.
I know there have been some issues with the Saab 9-3 SS range (not sure about combis and convertibles) with springs snapping on some vehicles.
TedY has a 9-3 and as an owner on GM’s register, he received the following letter. It may be of interest for other owners as well. It explains the nature of the problem as well as the remedy being provided for. Obviously how this will play out in the wake of the Saab sale will remain to be seen.
