Introducing Saab 9-5 number 483,589
February 13, 2010 in Saabology
There were 483,593 Saab 9-5s manufactured between 1997 and February 1 this year. This is number 483,589. Only four were made after this one, and one of those has gone to the Saab Museum in Trollhattan.

This fifth-last car to roll off the production line has just been purchased by a friend of mine, Tim R, a Trollhattan local by birth but a citizen of the world in his professional life as a commercial pilot.

The car is fully loaded with everything except for inbuilt navigation.

Not only is it the fifth-last of this generation 9-5 to be built, it was also the final Saab 9-5 of this generation to be delivered by ANA, the big Saab dealership in Trollhattan.

This car will join Tim’s magnificent Saab 9-3 Viggen in the garage and I’m sure he’ll be smiling a big wide smile no matter which of his Saabs he’s driving.
Congratulations Tim (and G’day to Johanna as well! Make sure you get a key, too!
