I can’t believe it’s all finally happening, nor the incredible good fortune I have to be here.
I’m in a room with around 40 people, including the dealmakers from GM, Saab, Spyker, Deutsche Bank, KPMG (in bold because I forgot them the first time and was asked to add them), the Swedish National Debt Office. There is champagne ready with two full trays of glasses. The mood is very, very jovial and there’s a palpable sense of relief here that things are finally – finally - getting done.
There are computers and contracts everywhere.
It won’t be long now. We’re nearly there.
