Saab Support Convoy, Sydney Australia – DONE!

by Swade on February 9, 2010

Another of the weekend’s gatherings was right here in Australia, in the city of strange football, fashionistas and ridiculously high house prices – Sydney.
A note from my mate Hawkeye, who organised the day:
——
We had a great day considering we had a lot of rain the last 24 hours. A total of 15 people and 9 Saabs (there’s one missing from the photo).
The photo of the Saabs in one line was taken inside the Royal National Park, which is the world’s second oldest national park – after Yellowstone in the USA. It’s located just on the outskirts of southern Sydney.
What a sight it was to see us weaving our way through the lush green areas through the mist up to Stanwell tops. It was a special day, but then again it’s suppose to be given that it is summer in Sydney.
A magnificent cake from one of our members Sue. Too bad we had to cut it up!
A great day had by all.

DAGENS INDUSTRI newspaper in Sweden tonight giving info about SPYKER securing a loan of 25 milj. Hereema Holding is a private owned company that since 1950-ies have been manufacturing and selling equipment used by oil and gas explotation industry operating at sea.

Bonzer stuff.
Excuse the stereo type.. Really wish I had been there.
If anyone is a hang glider, paraglider, get yourself to this location – Stanwell Park is THE place to jump off a cliff strapped to something. An easy drive or a train – direct from Sydney- you need the Wollongong express or stopper and get off at Stanwell and walk up the hill .
Saabs at Stanwell, must hav been special..

Well done! Impressive to see that saabistis still show their affection for the brand even when Spyker entered the scene

Lance, by the time we got to Stanwell Tops it was raining again (we’ve had a heap of rain in Sydney, the day before the convoy we had over 200mm of rain).
People were hang-gliding in the rain when we got there!
I’ve also uploaded some photos (taken with my iPhone)
