This should be fun to watch – Saab modelling

by Swade on March 19, 2010

Ive been following the work of a young design student via my Flickr feed over the last few months. It’s now getting to an interesting stage.
A friend of his seems to be assisting him with some 3D modelling of his work.
Should be interesting……

It’ll be interesting to follow this thread. See what comes of it.

So you got Aquavit in your thermos, too…? ;-) )
Somehow the sketch grows on me. Will be interesting to see in 3D.

That snout looks like a mix between a DeLorean and the beautiful BMW Z8.

I’m curious to see what it looks like in 3D. With the leaning forward nose it looks more born from boats than jets though at this point, so I’m dubious.

For the creative minds – basis for a 92NG…. :)

Interesting. IMHO its no Saab breed, exept for the old 95 rims. The z8 comparison by Tompa is not far fetched.
Will be fun to see how it turns out.

My goodness… I have to be drunk.. Can

Actually John DeLorean was never convicted of anything regarding the drugsmuggling charges. Since we’re kinda picky about getting the facts right about Saab that should go for other enthusiast brands aswell. :-)

Interior specification of the 9-5, anybody?
In MY2010 all versions will have the dark dashboard inlays but with differing decors surrounding the dashboard. Linear will get some kind of piano black, Vector “Cold brushed metal” with black and grey seats and “Warm brushed metal” for beige seats. Beige seats will also come with a cocoa colored cockpit and – as an option – wooden dashboard. The Aero gets “Dark brushed metal” and from MY 2011 on *fanfare* the Clear Zone dashboard from the concept cars!

Ok, I couldn’t help it….but wouldn’t this be nice to see on the roads from time to time? :)

bk-aero, is that the latest edition of the guide?
It seems to say that the smart-beam feature cannot be combined with the Pilote-package? (and they forgot to list “U-Rail” as being included with the Pilote-pkg)

Cocao coloured cockpit, that sounds interesting! Lottery is $41million here today so its a pity a/ Saab dont currently sell cars here in Canada, b/ no “build my car” function yet exists for the 9-5 and more importantly c/ I only have a 1-2800000 chance of winning. Nice to dream though!
Swade must be having an amazing weekend in Melbourne!!

I went to the opening premiere of Svenska Bil south of Stockholm.
In the room behind the front desk I found it:
The Saab 9/5 anno 2010.
Already five sold since Wednesday. I could not order one due to my plain wallet. But still: I love it! It must work now.
