The question: What is the Autoblog car of the year for 2010?
The situation: The Saab 9-5 is doing commendably, but could probably use a little help if you feel so inclined. The poll is in the right sidebar of the Autoblog.nl website.
The poll is unofficial and the result is purely superficial, but if a high-ish finish for the Saab 9-5 opens up just one person’s eyes, then it’s a good thing, eh?

That burnt 9-5 photo and article is on the autoblog.nl front page….right next to the car of the year poll which the 9-5 is leading! How paradoxical. Time to get more votes in.

Apparently, they have rigged things up so that only registered members of the site can vote.
No problem, I am now a full fledged registered member (all you need is an email address) and things are back to normal

Well not quite back to normal it seems, but anyway, I think we’ve proved our point. There’s nothing quite like a Saab fan.

The Mercedes fans are catching up with us. We’re “just” 850 votes ahead, but it was over 1100 this morning.
Saab 9-5 (26%, 4,047 Votes)

@Tim, I noticed this as well. Late last night we were actually 1300 votes ahead. Looks like a little over 700 now.

Can we advise Saab fans on other web sites? I think we’ll need all the help we can muster. The AMG folks are unrelenting.

For maximum effect we should wait until just after Mercedes regained first place. Then a final push (helped by another post from Swade) and we could win with a nice majority around year’s end.

On the other hand, as you say “we’ve proven our point” could also mean we leave it at that. After all: changing the rules of the game while it’s being played is just childish, so why respond?
