Saab 99 Turbo on Forza3
December 16, 2010 in Uncategorized
Big thanks to Jorgen from the Saabs United Historic Rally Team for this one.
He’s downloaded the latest expansion pack for Forza3, which includes the Saab 99Turbo that you voted for in a poll run by Jalopnik!
Here’s some video of his first few runs….

That’s the coolest thing I think I’ve ever seen
Get the low-down on the community choice classics pack.

IS that a NG900 and a 9-3SS I see in the second video…

I think I saw a 9-3 in the second video, the front looks like a 2nd generation one

I’ve seen enough for me to start looking for a used X Box on Craig’s List!
Off topic: New 9-5 review in the New York Times:

Still off-topic, but that review is spot-on in my opinion.
Current 9-5 isn’t perfect (and in fact has numerous faults) but has a lot of character and reason to like it, if not recommend it over some more polished competitors.

Hey G, we trashed the “review” here already as unprofessional
But hell of a lot better than any German make, model or variant in the winter imho. What is your argument that these cars are so superior to the 9-5? (except price). If an Audi would outlast a Saab you could argue quality, but it’s the other way around.

Good for Forza 3 users. No Saabs on GT5 instead….

Exactly what I was wondering: any SAAB love on GT5?
I don’t care, I stay true to you Sony!

Oh, love the dump sound of the waste gate in the first clip! And yep, there’s both a 9-3 TurboX and the OG 9-3 (Aero?)…!
A real shame Saab is nowhere to be seen in Gran Turismo 5, though ._.

I have suped up my TurboX to 512bhp on Frorza3. Am going to buy the classic pack with the 99T in it at the weekend.

Just wished that Saab would get Forza3 to make a 9-5 Aero. Other companies like Bmw & Audi has their cars out there. Could not be that costly.

by the way the 99 interior is just beautiful.
The turbo gauge and all.

Was a current 9-3 also part of the pack?
Jörgen Trued said on December 16, 2010
The TurboX and 2001 9-3 is included in the standard Forza 3.
Rune said on December 16, 2010
But how does it drive?
In the video it looked like the 99 tended to oversteer…

What a sight – three different Saabs on track with an odd Geely thrown in
Ain´t I glad that my son is finally getting an XBOX360 for Xmas
I am pretty sure what the first download will be – since I just happened to buy Forza3 as well. Clever little me.

Spyker will be available in Test Drive Unlimited 2, perhaps two models. No Saabs, even though it would be bloody sweet to drive the top model 9-5, with all the interior details, on a sunny European island.

It’s a shame that an iconic brand as SAAB is not present in GT5. It should have replaced many of the crappy japanese models you find in the game.
Swade, with your excellent connection in SAAB, do you think you could make a request into wether the lack of SAAB beeing present in GT5, is due to the developer not wanting to have them in the game, or due to GM or SAAB not wanting to be in it, or not having cars to lend the developers?
Its an excellent marketing area to make the brand known, with present products as well as historic iconic models, so it should be interesting, in my opinion.

Yeah I’d much prefer to have a SAAB special event rather than a cruddy Toyota Rits/Yaris special event. Spyker is in GT5, so it sucks that SAAB was dropped. I remember the SAAB 9-5 in earlier versions GT3 I think? It would have been great to see older SAABs in the Second Hand Dealership and the new 9-5 in the New Dealerships.
Anyway, GT5 is still a great game worth checking out.
