Saab ad competition – Final Day!

Entries are now closed for the Saab (unofficial) ad competition but there are still a heap of ads for you to see. Lots of last-minute entries came in, so here we go.

Of course, thanks are due once again to our fantastic sponsors, who have made this competition all the more interesting with their fantastic donations to the prize pool – New Salem Saab, International Saab, ATS, transport services, SoonSaab, State of Nine, Maptun, Elkparts, Saab USA Parts, The Fudge A’fare and a couple of private donors – you’ve all done a wonderful thing supporting this competition, so thankyou.

Here are the final entries in the (unofficial) Saab ad competition.

——

Waxle kicks things off with an aircraft theme….

Kevin C has submitted a new ad and an edit of a previous one….

There are heaps of new ads for you to peruse after the jump!

This one’s kind of special. It comes from Andreas K and it features his own new Saab 9-5!

Ida T gets creative with the Saab 9-5….

The original solutions keep coming, including the hand drawn griffin in this ad, from Stacey….

FrenchieSaab pops a cork on the Saab 9-5 (very clever graphic)….

David B – the musician behind Griffin Up! – has an ad called Harmony….

Arild wants to (al)lure you in…… sorry, bad joke….

Terry muses over the gentrified Saab 9-4x….

Sander T could have thrown a DeLorean in here…. πŸ™‚

Ida T had an entry above. She’s also teamed up with Fredrik to produce the following four ads. The first two form a series together….

Jairo looks back…

Jake get into Bond mode. James Bond mode…..

Aruk has a sextet of ads for your consideration….

Joel J goes back to childhoods tales about where babies come from….

Sam Y contributes another two ads to the competition….

Jon G goes 11 shades of green…. and some other things….

My name is Steven Wade and I did not approve this message. It was sent in by Quijote, however, so I’ll run it…. πŸ™‚

Jeff has his head in the clouds…..

I had to think a few times before running a few of these, for reasons that might be obvious. I’ve done so because there are some publications in which they might be suitable, though I’m completely unsure as to whether Saab would ever consider something like them.

And that’s it. We’re done.

What an epic competition!

I’ll be collating all of these into one place shortly. The judges will do their thing (which might take a little time) and then the best and brightest will be put up for public voting.

Thanks to all of those who have worked so hard submitting entries to this competition. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Thanks! So Swade, you should get Saab news to post on their site about the contest and entries! A story showing the enthusiasm of the Saab community AND even better, personal, true to life, can’t always really run it in print thoughts and info about Saab and their autos. Sorry, automobiles – as they don’t build just cars!

Didn’t have time to look at all entries in detail, but overall the quality seems to be outstanding. There definitely a whole bunch of these that Saab marketing should consider. If they do they should make it really, really clear that these adds were made by Saab fans. Imho Saab hasn’t been capitalizing enough on their broad fan base.

This really cool SU ad competition made one thing quite clear:

WW Saab enthusiasts certainly are the most creative drivers of them all.
Thanks a lot to all of you who contributed great entries.

I’m going to miss this ongoing segment in SU. So many submissions made me smile. Others made me laugh. Thank you, Swade, for having the inspired genius to host the competition; thanks to all the sponsors who ponied up prizes; and thanks most of all to the SU community members who injected such fantastic effort and creativity into their projects.
