Its a pleasure to see that Canadian dealerships are getting excited about Saab. Canada, with its weather similarities to Sweden, should be an excellent market for Saab if the dealer network and marketing are in place to allow for success. I had the good fortune to find out this week that my home town, Edmonton, finally has a new Saab dealership that is under renovations and about to start operations. Hopefully this also means that some of the other major markets that were not initially addressed by Saab Canada operations (Victoria, Winnipeg) will also see dealerships in the relatively near… Read more »

I hope and think that Saab can have a great future in Canada, as ad the climat and hopfully some Swedish hockey players can support in adds and so on. Thinking of Salming and Sundin in Toronto (they are heroes there) for local advertising as an example. Canadians are hockey and the Sweeds aint that bad either (and they know it) so go for the hockey thing or curling maybe. Saab have a great oportunity in Canada I think This film clip is absolutly great and I wish all the best to Saab Canada. PS. Yes you are the best… Read more »

Not sure about Sundin but I think that Salming would´nt be so expensive ,for some reason I belive he could do it by heart. Just a feeling.

It doesn’t scream out “look at me” but it does say “I achieved something”

Well said! 🙂 That’s why I love Saab’s styling. Those are the best looking Saab 9-5 wheels since 1998.

I purchased my 06 9-3 Aero from Turpin, I drove from Montreal and picked up my car 🙂

Great to see Saab dealers taking initiative and promoting the Saab brand with their own hands, well done.

Sorry but Turpin had bad pricing in the past (afterall they had the monopoly in Ottawa). Hopefully they’re going to be more polite pricewise in the rebirth of saab. i have the opposite experience from one of the posters before me. Living in Ottawa, I bought my 2006 93 aero from Gravel in Montreal, and shaved 4K off the best price Turpin was quoting me, and I got vector alloys for which turpin wanted an additional 1200$ for !!! … they were REALLY bad at pricing in 2006 … the kind blond lady selling the cars had her hands tied.… Read more »

This man must be one of the most loyal and biggest fans of Saab in the world. I was more impressed with his delivery, words and style than the dynamics of the video. I can only hope we get a close equivalent here in OZ as we need a Turpin full blown dealer. You guys are it in Canada, excellent work.

Great video. For those that don’t know, Turpin is one of those dealers that lost everything when it came to GM’s cuts. They have a video about telling staff that GM was pulling the plug on them. I know that as a former Saturn dealership, that like Turpin, it gives me great pleasure and gets me very excited to be with Saab. Saab was very much so like us and tossed to the side by GM and with dealers like us in Canada that fully support the brand, I believe the future is very bright. Good luck to all the… Read more »

When I was just a kid, my parents bought my mother a Vauxhall from Turpin. Back then, I think the only other small car on the market was the bug. Other than not starting on damp mornings, tks to Prince Lucas, the Vauxhall was actually e decent ride for those years (1961).
I wish Mr Bédard in Québec City (SAAB Suzuki de la Capitale) would wake up and do something. Haven’t heard dick from him yet. Makes me year for my old dealer from Lévis.

Common Bourassa do something about Saab Laval! Clean up your dealer and start promoting the brand. Canada is the perfect place to maket Saabs, people want safe cars that are good in winter, and now is the time to take advantage of the booming luxury market.
Get in now, don’t wait for spring….Saab needs to focus. Don’t just dump a bunch of cars on the lot and wait for loyal customers to buy one. Canada is a small but wealthy market.
Think about it! It shouldn’t be that hard.

nice to see this kind of videos, but I’d repeat:

this is the way dealer sales videos should be done –

Ouch! http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/12/automobiles/autoreviews/12saab-9-5.html

Saab needs to get the price down to avoid some of these recurring complaints coming from US based reviewers.

That guy LIKED the infinity 37’s interior over the 9-5, he has absolutely NO TASTE wat-so-ever. Unfortunately he is in a position to ‘inform’ potential readers, shame.

It’s like have a food critic without taste buds writing review for Michelin Guide, really unfortunate.

I was one of those lucky enough to attend the wine and cheese reception hosted by Fern Turpin and his staff on December 8th. They have 8 Saabs in stock (and are expecting 3 more next week). On display Wednesday evening were three 9-5s (two 2.0Ts – including one biopower- and one V6); one 9-3X; and two 9-3 sedans. I’d guess there were 50 or so people in attendance and Fern seemed pleased with the turnout. People seemed genuinely interested in seeing the cars – especially the 9-5, but I also sensed considerable interest in the 9-3X which is making… Read more »

I’ve seen E85 in Ottawa, bit I don’t know if it’s a long-term proposition (as opposed to a limited trial).

As long as it’s not produced from corn… Come to think of it there is a very modern plant in Quebec rthat was to produce it from waste matter, but the ?%*%#$% Conservatives made the project unviable by changing the rules. $(&?%)?*%*&%&!!!

Just bought new 9-5 Aero with all the options. It’s an expensive car but keeps a smile on your face for a long time because it’s a magnet. People like to watch this car. It’s unique, looks way better that any of it’s competitor, bimmer or merc. My friends with those cars envy me secretly. The ride quality in Aero is excellent. The motor is refined and it’s a fast car. It’s meant to be sporty, not so soft as we have used to. It’s a Audi territory, and it’s quieter than Audi, I think. I would have never spent… Read more »

I’m sure this issue has been beaten to death but, how hard would it be to convert the 9-5 sedan into a hatchback? From the photos it seems like only a matter of inches and then you could put an end to comparisons to Buick LaCrosse.

A retro Saab 900 Kirk? Oh yeah, it looks quite good.

Now regarding this video I just have to say that his enthusiasm and optimism just made me feel great, he must be a Saab owner.

Various different sentences, words and sayings that I liked a lot, and that splendid 9-5 interior of course.

warren made a comment about a new dealership in Edmonton. Wondering where it is going to be and any speculation of dates for new vehicles? Am a little excited as I have a collegue who is interested in the new 9-5 and it would give me an excuse to drive one too.

SAAB_andee, Believe me, we all hear you. From what I understand, the problem with the web is being worked on. It’s not just the website though, the websites through GM were all tied into GM’s global connect system and handle everything from orders, deliveries and window stickers, so everything right now is being done almost by hand. That being said, I’m confident that this website talk is more important to Saab then it is to any of us. I would like to have had it yesterday but I understand that it’s a difficult process to bring stuff over from GM… Read more »

Pretty incompetent garage. Pretty incompetent body shop. Never had any happy experiences with them, only with one of their master techs who actually knew his stuff. The rest was just a GM dealership. The quality of paint they used on my car after painting the door and quarter panel, as junk. Started to flake and they touched it up, only to have it flake and rust again. So much for a lifetime warranty. The SAAB experience, as said by them, is the WHOLE experience. From buying the car, to ordering parts to getting it SERVICED professionally by all standards. These… Read more »
