Saab “Zero Hero” ad – Saab GB

Just another update on some increased advertising coverage by Saab. This image was sent in by Jon C (thanks!)

This ad emphasises Saab’s status; offering the highest powered, zero road tax car in Great Britain in the Saab 9-3 TTiD.

The phone is included in the shot for scale….

Because of it’s sub-120g/km CO2 output, drivers avoid having to pay annual road tax on a 9-3 TTiD and it’s probably one the largest and definitely the highest output vehicle to achieve this status in the British market.

And the website…..

——

I know I’ve cast some small doubts on Saab GB here and there over the years. But I have to say that in my experience, they’ve always done a great job of making sure their website co-ordinates with their marketing promotions. The landing pages are always well designed and graphically engaging. It’s good to see that again in this instance and I wish them every success.

There will be a lot of deserved praise following this comment, so let me be the negative one as usual, for the sake of drawing the right persons’ attention to necessary detail – the profil shot of the 9-3 that replaced the 900 classic in the landing page is absolutely awfully comped-in. For a company relying on people in visual arts for their retail sales, Saab should in no way compete for PSDisasters.com attention.

Looks fine to me! Good to see Saab activities rising all over. Sad to see Saab Oz waiting so long… Want to test drive the 9-5 already! =)

Nothing wrong with the website

Only 900-fetishists will complain about the image.

The Sunday Times also had the full page advert on the back of the main section, quite impressive….shame my 9-5 Aero Auto isn’t below 120 g/km or 225 for that matter ((:-(((

http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/article8522568.ab The two cars drove straight into each other on the glass slippery road 44 in the night. A 38-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman trapped. The man died of his injuries, the woman now cared for in hospital. The alarm came just after midnight today. Just outside Lidköping, at Ågård resting place, had the two cars collided head-on. The woman was trapped for over an hour before she could be with severe injuries to the hospital in Skövde. There were classified her injury as life threatening and she was transferred in the morning hours to Sahlgrenska. – Her condition… Read more »

Taking roof off takes time so I would guess that survivors were in a 9-5 Wagon. Also driver’s position looks like it has taken some time to remove the person, story says that the one who eventually died was taken quickly out of the car.

An hour is a typical time for cutting a roof off from a modern car and sending the injured off in an ambulance. But that drivers seat is leaving someone in critical condition if in any.

Amazing how kids rear facing in the rear almost never get hurt at all. Apparently this kid “walked away” without any injuries at all…

SVD novel writer, Mr. Froberg, has tested the new A6. The article is not that important, but a remark on the competitors seem interesting to me.

COMPETITORS

• Saab 9-5. Saabs stolthet matchar Audi i chassi och väghållning men inte detaljfinish. • Saab 9-5. Saab pride match the Audi in the chassis and handling, but not detailed finish.

The Audi is more expensive than the Saab, even in the vector trim, so lets hope that Geneva shows us a (interior)restyled 129 g Saab diesel 🙂

Naturally as new model means higher price, improving the price advantage of Saab over Audi.
