Jane Eyre premiere hosted by Saab

Sorry, but I had to find something that wasn’t related to Mr. Antonov.

On Wednesday the première of the movie Jane Eyre was celebrated at NYC’s Tribeca Grand Hotel. The event was sponsored by W magazine, Saab and Focus Features.

Mia Wasikowska, the leading actress, did wear a Elie Saab dress. I hope some of the public assisting to the event did know that there are other companies using SAAB as brand name. 😉

Elie Saab is a VERY hot designer at the moment, many stars are wearing her stuff. She has 250,000 likes on her Facebook page, as compared to Saab’s almost 80,000. Maybe they can team up and use their combined powers for good. like a special “Elie SAAB” where she designs a custom 9-5 or something, gives it a special interior haha 😉 just a crazy random thought…

Saab is a well known family name in Lebanon. Hence, Elie Saab, the name of the person. “He” is a high end fashion designer and well recognized in the fashion industry 🙂

Elie Saab. Frankly it busts my chops over the last year or two to see that everytime I do a ‘Saab’ search of any kind, I end up looking at dresses. Down with this kind of thing…

Nah no down with this thing, instead do more of what you’re seeing on this page. The more you link a company name to a designer who charges $3-100K for a dress, the better. You want Saab to seem premium? Next time Elie Saab shows his collections in Paris, maybe Saab could get some 9-5s and Spykers and the PhoeniX out there in front? Get the fashion photographers and press to notice it, maybe do a promotion with Neiman Marcus or Saks. Get the word out that Saabs are exclusive to that crowd, and believe me the word will trickle… Read more »

Of course you are right – especially the last point. But, I remember when there was only one Saab in the world. Also, I am the opposite of fancy. Back in university, I used to take pride in going to nightclubs with a hole in my t-shirt – which I would insist on showing to the bouncer before I went in. Beside all the guys in their VM-like clothes, I looked like a joke. But, once upon a time I was quite the charmer, and would enjoy laughing at those other guys at the end of the night as they… Read more »

I’m a littel confused – so did the SAAB, the car company sponsor this event at all?

If it’s just the design label, how come their font/ logo type looks exact like Saab automotive?

It was the car company.
