Antonov wants a meeting with Olofsson

May 22, 2011 in Uncategorized

TTELA (original article here) “It is imperative that I get the opportunity to discuss my motives, plans and the resources I have a meeting face-to-eye with you”
So writes Vladimir Antonov, in a letter addressed to Maud Olofsson (C) that the Industry Ministry received on Thursday evening.
It is 23 days since the National Debt Office approved Vladimir Antonov as the owner of Saab’s parent company. The government has stated that it awaits the EIB’s consideration of the question.

But now writes the owner of the Convers Group directly to the Minister. ”I am writing to you in my own capacity to become investor with an interest to become shareholder of Spyker Cars and Saab Automobile,” he begins letter. He expresses the wish to meet Maud Olofsson personally “very soon”. The meeting, notes Antonov, should have happened long ago and says that he can only take responsibility for ensuring that this has not yet been done.

He also expresses clearly that he tried to distance himself from everything that is written about the Saab deal so far and his involvement in it - a lot that has been written is not true or has been pulled out of context, he expresses.

“If it were true that the Swedish government has any doubt or feel any uncertainty with regard to my person or my long-term intentions with regard to Saab, it is crucial for me to have the opportunity to discuss my motives, plans and resources I In a meeting, face-to-face with you, “he writes on.

He declares that he is prepared to be ”extremely open” in the meeting and explained that he would like to show how committed he is in the brand Saab, and that he has ”a firm belief that there can be a successful, well run and profitable Swedish automotivecompany. “
