I have talked to a number of employees at Saab, both engineers and people in the assembly. Everyone is sad, some confident in a solution, some are hoping but very few have actually lost hope. Some angry reactions have surfaced in the media but I think they needed to call a lot of people in order to get one angry voice!

Now people are mostly thinking about how to handle the situation, to save up money or perhaps even sell items so that they can put food on the table. The City of Trollhättan has announced that nobody will starve… they have a place open a few hours every day where people can get food and basic needs if it should come to that! The city is in the end according to law the one responsible for its inhabitants.

At 13:30 Maud Olofsson will hold a press-conference in Stockholm, to be very honest I don’t expect much from that other than the usual talk that we have heard before, that they are taking measures for re-training or workers etc… Would be nice though if she would prove me wrong for once but I don’t have much faith in that woman!

I still place all of my faith in the people at SAAB, they are the miracle workers, they have proved it over and over again…

Just to clarify some things: Salaries are delayed at this point, not cancelled.  Important distinction.

Some rumors say that there might be a development around lunch-time which is about 2-3 hours away…

Trollhättan, Sweden: Swedish Automobile N.V. (Swedish Automobile, formerly Spyker Cars N.V.) announces that Saab Automobile AB (Saab Automobile) will be unable to pay the wages to employees as it has not yet obtained the necessary short-term funding. Swedish Automobile and Saab Automobile are in discussions with various parties to obtain short-term funding, including via the sale and lease-back of the real estate of Saab that was announced previously, and with their financiers in connection with current financing arrangements. After a long period of suspence,  I can say that there is a progress concerning the presence of SAAB on Russian market.

25th March Armand-Import CIS was appointed as the SAAB main impoter.  There was no news since that announcement but today I checked  Armand-Premium website and this is what I’ve seen.

The Saab 9-4x have had a very nice welcome into the world by the Swedish media. Some very nice reviews have been and are still being published by motor journalists around the country. And this is now starting to have an effect.

The first news of orders have reached us and they come from Stockholm, where Svenska Bil in Akalla right now have 6 cars on order! Considering that the car has not even been available for test drive by customers, its a great start!
