I will keep this short. I think that Vladimir Antonov pulls out as a potential owner to the Saab facilities just because of the simple fact that Saab has found another buyer. So he is being the nice guy again, and is once again showing how much he loves Saab by getting out of the way for someone else in order to save Saabs interest rather than pushing for his own!
UPDATE: I’ve seem to have missed a key feature that happened yesterday while I was at work. There is a company called Hemfosa which is based in Sweden run by a person named Jens Engwall. According to the TTELA article (here) he met with Victor Muller at Grand Hotel in Stockholm.
This is a translation of the TTELA article mentioned above:
- We have been approached by Spyker and met with representatives, it is true. We have held a dialogue and we’ll see what happens. A deal is possible because the Bank has released the pledge, ”said Jens Engwall to the Real Estate World. Read the rest of this entry →

Autoblog.nl writes through a google-translation (original article here):
So much for the brilliant idea of Victor and Vladimir for a number of property options for Saab to sell to the wealthy Russian , then lease back to Saab. Antonov has withdrawn from the deal, due to the fact that he did not get permission from the European Investment Bank. Read the rest of this entry →

Today (right now) the Swedish parliament is having it’s last debate before leaving for a summer holiday. I’m not very interested in politics but I am interested in Saab and I heard that Gustav Fridolin was going to be questioned and I know that he has been one of the very few politicians who actually cares about Saab and who in fact did visit Saab on the 13th of May this year. Together with Mats Odell, he and Mats are the only politicians who actually took time off to actually visit Trollhättan and Saab to find out the real facts. This I admire!
I’m not going to go into party politics here on SU, and to be very honest I don’t care too much about politicians. But the following is actually pretty interesting. Fredrik Reinfeldt stated today that Sweden, has during the past two generations, moved from a farmers society, through an industrial society to a service / administrative society. It was pretty clear that Fredrik Reinfeldt felt that Sweden is not a country that should focus on the industry. He also pointed out the amount of new jobs that could be created in the service / administrative sector over the next years and mentioned nothing about the industry. Read the rest of this entry →

www.automotorsport.se (original article here) has a really great article written by Erik Söderholm about the latest theft protection in new cars. The list is long but distinguished and Saab places it self rather well. The 9-5 Linear gets 4 stars for theft of car and only 3 for theft from car. This is probably because the car was not equipped with the alarm-system. The rest of the models get 5 stars for theft of car and 4 for theft from car.
Here is the complete list as pdf (from automotorsport.se): click here

Saabs total debt at the Swedish Enforcement Agency has risen to a total amount of 27 million SEK. Saab has 10 days to meet the demands otherwise the Enforcement Agency has the right to go into the company and take property valued to the same amount. These 27 million SEK are divided up into 51 different demands from various sources.
This kind of news is not something I like to write about… but still its important!

This is one of the last posts I’m going to do about the Griffin Convertible. Tomorrow it’s going back to Saab and what can I say, it’s been an amazing time having it! And a five days is a perfect time to get to know a car well. I even had time to go through the owners manual to try to learn as much as possible about the car! =)
Well, anyway, here is a video I shot about 2 hours ago, showing how the instrumentation and navigation looks like. It had to be shot in the dark to really show how nice it is and here in Sweden during summer it takes a long time before it gets really dark! Which is why I’m posting this at a very late hour…

From my point of view this is not news at all, as I thought they were working on that no matter what the news agencies said. But it is nevertheless interesting to know that they can have a solution for that shortly (till Friday??).
It is the second positive press release for this morning, which is good to keep the positive mood arround Saab while the supplier discussions are on-going.

Warning: Certain aspects of this posting may be considered just too dog-darn cute. Consider yourself warned.
I know many of you out there are asking yourself what car to buy for your Great Danes. What car could possibly accommodate not only one, not two, but three? And allow these huge gracious beings to stand up if they so choose?
