SaabsUnited: US-Plate Holders & Orders
June 24, 2011 in News
Today has been a fairly good day with the news and I’m about to give you gusy some more good news! We have received orders for 32 plateholders to SaabsUnited readers around in the first 10 hours since we posted that we will give all the profit to Saab Employees in need.
For you who have missed the news, we are giving away all of the profit from the sales of our www.SaabsUnited.com registration plate-holders to Saab Employees in desperate need. They will be able to apply for 30 Euro per week from us. Each plate-holder gives a profit of 10 Euro which we normally use for running the servers and organising events like the SaabsUnited Days we hosted in September. 3 plate holders will feed one person for a week.
The second good news I have to share is that a couple of weeks ago we teamed up with one of our sponsors State of Nine in the United States to produce and deliver plate holders to our US readers. The main reasons why we went this way is that State of Nine are good friends of ours. has a great shop and network in the US and the shipment costs from Europe to US was way too high. Having them made locally is also a good factor to help out the US employees. Dan who runs State of Nine has been a great help to us and the Saab community and the plate-holders should be ready very soon, perhaps today! We will keep you updated on this!
In the mean time take a look State of Nine‘s great collection of Saab products! =)

Thank you Dan at State of NIne!
I have met him at past SAAB Owner’s Events and he is a wonderful asset to the SAAB community. Always ready and willing to help owners, no matter how difficult or unusual our request is for a SAAB product. Can’t wait to bolt them on my trio!

While I know that State of Nine always has high quality products, I will be interested to see the design of these plate holders. A recent change in the law in the state where I live says that none of the holder/frame can cover up the any portion of the name of the state at the bottom or the year/month stickers at the top.of the license plate. (It can be a $100 fine.) If the design works within the constraints of these guidelines, I will certainly consider buying one.

By the way, all I see is US Plate Holders/US Readers/US Shipments etc. These will be available to Canadians as well, yes? Perhaps using ‘North American’ would be more inclusive. Not sure about Mexican plates….can any Mexican SU readers confirm whether your plates are the same as US & Canadian?

May I bring up another idea? For those not having a EU or US plate such as myself, a Swiss one, in those cases would not serve a sticker of SaabUnited , of course it costs a lot less but for your good action I am sure that many of Saabists would be willing to pay the same price? It would also be very easy to be shipped!
