SU-UPDATE
June 20, 2011 in Uncategorized
While we await news from Saab I want to give you some good news from SaabsUnited. The mobile theme has now been upgraded with a comments feature. So all you mobile users can now comment directly on a post through your android, iphone or ipad!

I see no difference… It was already possible to post comments (in a mobile theme) on my Android phone.
TimR said on June 20, 2011
I haven’t tested the new theme on an android phone but before there were problems with the comments on the mobile theme on iphones… that works perfectly now…

Android is so much better than iPhone

There’s one guy here in my office with Google OS. Google has advantages (consumer orientated) and iOS (more enterprise orinetated, look on supported Exchange policies) has advantages. I prefer Apple. iTunes is so powerfull and i trust my local backup instead of having all my synchronized data in the cloud.

I’ve been posting here on my iPhone for ages
Nice to hear that further enhancements are being made anyway!
TimR said on June 20, 2011
Cool! Seems to be working differently with different phones =P I have never been able to post from my 3Gs nor iPhone 4 =( I always had to use the normal theme and not the mobile theme…

In fact it worked if you were logged in but the login was hard to find in the mobile theme (took me a few weeks)

I have a Samsung GT5600, which is a half-smart phone.
Sometimes I get a mobile theme, and sometimes I get the Internet theme as translated by my phone. I don’t now how to get the mobile theme only. Any tip on how to do that is warmly velcome.
till72 said on June 20, 2011
Not sure, but on the iPhone there is a button “mobile theme on/off” at the bottom of the page and once I click it SU only ever appears in the mobile theme. Or the other way round.
Hans H said on June 20, 2011
I see it now.
Has it been there all along? I must be blind…
till72 said on June 20, 2011
Yes, it has been there, – but how often do you scroll all the way down…

Why are there always adverts for BMW when I browse the site on a mobile device ? The latest Dolphin HD seems to kill most of them thankfully but surely you should be pushing Saab.
till72 said on June 20, 2011
Google ads – they seem to see us as a target group for BMW. The other explaination is that you were googling BMW recently. You can’t hide from Google!
Bravada from GMI said on June 20, 2011
The thing is that while BMW advertises to those who looked up Saab, Saab only seems to advertise to those who look up Saab. I am getting bucketloads of Saab ads (as if I needed them, I already searched for and looked at Saabs!), but if I clean my cache and look for Audi or BMW or even Volvo – no such luck.

TimR said on June 20, 2011
You know what Ruune, we need to get things verified as well. We can’t just copy paste from other websites! We have known about this for almost 4 hours already but we cant print things we cant verify!

I don’t understand. I have an iPhone. Sometimes when I go to SU in safari, it loads the mobile version, sometimes the web version. How can I make it always load the mobile version?
TimR said on June 20, 2011
it should load the mobile theme from now on, otherwise you can find that in the bottom of the “normal” site when viewed from a smart phone, there should be a on/off feature for the mobile theme…
