TTela.se transcription of the press conference

RIGHT NOW: “We’re not dead yet”

– To our great surprise and great disappointment, the district court decided to reject our application. We will definitely appeal the decision, said Victor Muller at a news conference now under way.

Victor Muller is surprised by the district court’s decision and that the application was not complete. There are also errors in the district court’s decision that he intends to appeal.

– We will maintain good contact with the union, traders and suppliers, he says.

According to Muller, he has already spoken to the union representative of the era, and he emphasizes the good relationship they have.

– But then I do not know what steps they take now, he says.

If you can not then there is a plan D, but what it does think he is not telling.

He believes that there is much more information that Saab can offer to get a yes instead. He also says that it feels as if the (court) has information that Saab does not even have access to.

Although the union will ask the company into bankruptcy, they will continue with his appeal.

How do you feel?

– I’m surprised, I thought our application and thought we would get a favorable decision.I think this is an unusual for the Swedish legal system. And we will continue, we’re not dead yet.

– This is no dream, it’s more like a nightmare. I will keep on until the company goes bankrupt. There is money on the horizon who want to enter.

– Even if we lose the appeal, we are not dead, we will continue until the last moment.

Is there more information you can provide a district court?

– Yes, we will overwhelm the court with information.

Muller questions that the judges did not ask for more information. According to lawyers that he talked to, they could have done it.

What do you say to union representatives so that they do not request the company into bankruptcy?

– I can not say anything to them I can only inform them about what our plans are and hope we can work together, says Muller.

I just love this sentence, so typical of Victor: “- Yes, we will overwhelm the court with information.”

Right on, you cought the center of gravity of the text! I loved this figure of speech too. Soo typically Victor. Admirable rhetorics, no doubt!

If I am correct about VM, that statement is an understatement!

Only a true fanatic think it makes any difference. If you want to join Mr. Muller´s rumble in to the depths so go ahead.

Agreed, Tolstoy Syndrome, hence my LOL above.

Mr Muller’s statement means that Mr Victor Muller, CEO of SAAB Automobile AB, filed a reconstruction petition in a Court of Law without sending to said Court of Law all information relevant for a decision… So he now proposes to “flood the courtwith information”. I assume “flooding the court with information” is Plan D (sarcasm/irony fully intended).

Most of todays laymen’s ‘qualities’ are carelessness, ignorance, negligence, cyninism and malevolence. This is a fact even sadder than Saab’s current situation.

“LOL”

The LOL was at TimR’s comment, not at the situation of SAAB’s employees, suppleirs and dealers. I am very sorry you missundertood it.

Fun, isn’t it, dancing on a grave even before the corpse is buried.

There’s no reason not to.
It is so easy being knowledgable and shrewd.
It is more interesting to follow the development and keeping the mind open until complete destruction has been effected..

Death is Death, but in the words of VM and Frank Marino.(another subject but often declared dead)

Well–here goes..

Oh yeah

O.k. – here we go. Nice music. No death until the body is buried. Perhaps some windmills are rotating within the district court, flattering paper they can´t read exactly. Although may be it´s unreal, let´s hope. 😉

Were not dead yet!

Good old VM, a true Python fan.

I can just see him going to the court (again) singing ‘Always look on the bright side of life’

As long as he doesn’t sing “just before you draw your terminal breath….”

Yes! Way to go. I´m with all of you who still believe in Saab. It´s not over.

It’s difficult (and it was difficult). But it’s not over. VM is a typical dutch tradesman: he wil never give up.

The world is laughing on the firm…
It is getting ridiculous and shameful, I don’t like conspiracy theories but I feel that some strange odour is aroud this all.
Very sad to wath this, this is not a comedy like Python, it would be better if they could have been manage this more seriosly.

I am very disappointed, and I feel there are no more plans and hopes.

The only tragedy is how the people, politicians, and judges of Sweden seem to have discarded Saab to the trash heap so blatantly. Not even asking for clarification, that seems to be the only strange odor that I smell.

I am having trouble understanding something, and I’d really like to understand it so… I respectfully ask: don’t you think it is SAAB’s management’s responsibility to provide all relevant information together with a reconstruction application before a Court of Law, instead of having such application rejected and then coming to say “oh, by the way… we didn’t tell the court everything but we will appeal and will flood the Court with information”?

I guess what Saab management put in that application was what their Swedish legal experts told them to. This is not a management matter but lawyer stuff. Muller in so many words said so in his press conference earlier today. I’ll bet you a 2012 Saab that the appeals application is going to be written by other lawyers.

It’s always someone else’s fault, right? first GM, then the Swedish Government and EIB, now it’s the lawyers fault… But management, and specifically SAAB’s CEO are never in error… How nice…

Khrisdk

Did you hear anyone say that?
In this case the error was in hiring the wrong guys for the job if it is as assumed above.
Of course VM and managemet is ultimately responsible.
That is both their blessing and their curse.

Pedro

You are kidding me, aren’t you? Ivo wrote exactly that (“This is not a management matter but lawyer stuff”), I replied to his remark. As for the other culprits, they are always blamed around the comments section for everything that does not go according to plan… Read what you will into the notions of management and management’s responsibility, not to mention personal responsibility… I happen to think that a CEO publicly stating that “Yes, we will overwhelm the court with information” is the same as admitting SAAB’s application was half-assed but that people shouldn’t worry because he will be really… Read more »

Well, what Ivo wrote can be percieved differently
Regarding the other culprits, I will leave that blame to those who performs it.
But please do not place all in here in that category.

Some blame VM for everything, some blame everyone else.

My own personal evaluation and speculation of what happened today was that it was a stalling procedure that didn’t work.
The moral judgement of that I will leave to others.

Most saabisitees want to see Saab live and for good. We are Saab fans, not necessarily Swan fans, should we? But how come this wonderful website seems (I say “seems”) to be more a SWAN fan club than anything else now? I truely admire Victor Muller in many many ways and he did for Saab in 2010 what nobody could at the time with GM. But … Is it a crime to ask IF Victor is NOW the only one able to save Saab from death now? I mean, every media covered the process like Saab is at the end… Read more »

“We’re not dead yet”
This reminds me of the famous Monty Python sword fighting scene with Graham Chapman hacking away at the Black Knight who after losing both arms and legs maintains: “it’s only a flesh wound” and “I can still bite you in the leg” This is kind of the picture I have in mind when thinking of Saabs current situation.
