Update on situation

This is not, and has never been about Victor vs. Saab’s best interests. Do not for one minute believe that this is about Victor trying to hang on to a shred of the company to save himself, the deal he is structuring is absolutely to preserve Saab’s future in Trollhättan, and we’re all incredibly fortunate that he has the support of North Street. Wild speculation about what’s going on the scenes and interpolation of details coming from Guy Lofalk’s mouth are not to be regurgitated here to serve anyone’s agenda.

We are not presenting Victor Muller’s agenda, we aren’t promoting the Swedish Government’s, we’re not trying to protect or promote anyone here. What we’re trying to do is give everyone the clearest picture of the truth behind the scenes. If Victor Muller were in any way getting in the way of saving Saab’s future, we would be the first to try to tear him to the ground. As you can gather, that’s not the case here. With that I’ll leave you with a few words from Alex Mascioli to us, head of North Street.

Things today are very busy as they have been for awhile. Alot of people have been working very hard behind the scenes to try and do great things during a tough time none harder then Victor. I am sure that many people are unclear about many things but they need to know that there is an over-all plan that we are trying our hardest at to put all on track.

Fair warning, trash talking or wild speculation that flies contrary to reality will be deleted at SU. Feel free to post it anywhere else if you need your fix.

OK….on a lighter note. I took my 2011 Audi A4 to Midwestern Auto Group (MAG) to get it’s first routine 5000 mile servicing. While waiting, I had the opportunity to view the SAABs they had in stock. I was very impressed with the 2011 SAAB 9.5 AERO 6 cylinder XWD (Jet Black Color)…WOW….beautiful car. Really nice interior. Also, I saw the new 2012 Volvo S60 AWD, WOW!!! really love the new look of the Volvo. I really never would consider a Volvo, just because they came across as boring and boxy…but someone did a great job of redesigning the new 2012… Read more »

Dribs and drabs of money are quite obviously not the solution here. Saab needs some serious money right now. Gathering just enough money to pay wages once a month is not the way forward. We need hundreds of millions of dollars to get this company headed in the right direction and even more over the next five years. Personally, I dont think Pang Da has enough cash to keep Saab afloat. I sure as hell hope I am

Not directed specifically at this post. But as an owner of a 2009 9-3 Aero, and as one of many in the US (I’m sure) that start off their day with a cup of coffee and SaabsUnited news, I sometimes just want to wait for the movie version:)

You won’t ever see a movie of that. All those twists and turns would considered too unrealistic 😉

If SAAB goes in to bankrupcy now and Victor didn’t accept the chinese offer I know what the dealers will do then.

Do you really think the chinese are interested in running a factory in Sweden, forget about it… A chinese saab is not a saved saab…

Perhaps not in Sweden, but within the EU is they want to be part of that market so why not in Sweden?
They would certainly want a Chinese plant as well for the Chinese market.

I don’t buy the theory that VM is solely concerned with Saab’s welfare – he would have to be a saint if he wasn’t trying to construct a deal that is good for him and for Swan as well.

OK, my personal opinion is that Guy Lofalk, even when trying to act in the best interest of the creditors, has made some pretty stupid moves. He alienated Saab management by going behind their backs to Geely while a deal was already being worked out with Pang-Da and Youngman. He also brushed an edict of the Chinese government aside that only one Chinese party should negotiate deals with a not Chinese car maker, because he started talking with Geely while Youngman was the appointed Chinese party in the Saab deal. Then he tries to ‘fix’ things by basically offering Saab… Read more »

Im going to refer back to a posting I made on the forum back in September. I for one will go in with cash NOW. Don’t just whine do something positve and creative for your beloved SAAB Dont miss the chance to be a part owner in Saab on: September 9, 2011, 10:45 I am one of those Saab workers that after 2 weeks has not been paid their salary. I sat together with a number of colleagues yesterday hooked into every possible website waiting for the news to break………………It came, and the look on everyone’s face told the whole… Read more »

I’ve looked into buying SWAN shared, but my band don’t support trading on the Dutch stock market.
Anyway, I think the time and effort for such a deal would make it unpractical.

Well written post, Jeff. Clear and decisive. I do hope that the things will work out for SAAB. There really is no point in nurturing theories about Victor Mullers “true” agenda.

Sorry Jeff, but your post is the most unreasonable pretention that is possible. Off course VM has an own agenda, and this is nothing negative, it is just normal and a reflection of facts. When Spyker took over Saab from GM, VM did not have the money to fund the transaction from his own money. Instead a company hastily founded called Tenaci Capital, whose financiers were not disclosed, paid 50m to GM and bought out VA as Spyker shareholder. Later it became obvious that the Tenaci money probably came from VA. VM’s situation is that on a personal level he… Read more »
