Thanks, Rune, so we should not put this in our agenda for an action in the field where our presence will be appreciated.
kochje said on December 22, 2011
Or do we just have to be there, and if so; where is “there”?
Rune said on December 22, 2011
I think the idea is that various gatherings will be arranged. You and your Saab will definitively have to keep these day(s) clear.
I cannot really say, because I have already said much more than I know.

Yes, as someone whote few minutes ago – another fan from Slovenia. I have 9-3 and I have to say, that I have one strange problem. I had italian can, german, french, japanese, but Saab have all the best from those cars. I love to go to work, off the work, because I drive my Saab. And now, which car to buy? Volvo is not Volvo anymore, maybe Subaru, Mercedes is for the butchers, Audi for pimps, BMW for ….who knows. I know that money rules the world, but this is insane. Of course we hope for the best, for the people of Trollhattan, but are there any good signs at all in those past two days? Yesterday Mrs. Pang was there. Ivan

Also, if I might recommend that everyone send the link to the manager/owner of their local saab dealer/s and independent shops. Saab of Tampa and Dimmitt Saab (both great dealers) here in Tampa/St. Pete Florida will get a e-mail from me asking them to support the events.

“We are many” is a great slogan. we are many indeed. many potential customers of Saab (not GM).
Imho it would be useful to see a cumulated number of visitor counts not “only” on SU but also other fan sites and maybe even saab.com. 1-2 impressive numbers without breaking any confidential things. The Saab facebook page counts 100.000+ fans.
Imho still a good argument for a potential buyer. Needs to be collected by someone trusted. SU is here …

why can’t a Saab support convoys be formed that does not go to detroit or elsewhere to be negative. A convoy that brings medical supplies to africa, euro’s to Greece, toys to orphanages……
Saab always looked out for all it’s drivers n passagers in terms of safety, why cant Saab drivers around the world show that “we” are the same as our cars and the company that once made them – full of heart.
Marque said on December 22, 2011
I guess that you mention is a different league of play. Yes it could be organized but we are not a formal associaton, foundation or anything that is meant to be active in the field of charity.
Apart from that, of course anyone can be a giver, however the aim today is different, the need is now to show off the worldwide support for saab, evidence that we care (and not a tiny-bit for that matter)
I agree it should NOT be shown with any aspect of negativity however. The message should be very, very good natured, that’s a key imho.
On a footnote though, to bring euros to Greece is a kind of nonsense, and I guess the situation with Saab, nor with Greece, are something to be taken this lightly!

As a true believer, it’s really been a rough week, Like many of you, I’m still holding out hope that some white knight will swoop in and pick up Saab in one piece and make them alive again. But really, the 14th or 15th of January? By then I suspect Saab will be saved or really be on the ash bin of history. I appreciate that it takes time to organize something like this, but what’s the point if its going to be over one way or the other by then.
TimR said on December 22, 2011
Why not? Its a fun thing and if we are lucky it could also be a productive thing!
RS said on December 22, 2011
I think it’s the build up to the event that’s important, not least to support those negotiating in THN. Even better if the international press would runs the story. But I agree it will probably became a great celebration or one huge wake for the factory.

I was definitely thinking something in Detroit Metro area. It’ll hopefully be close enough for Cleveland and Chicago Saabers to meet up.

Wish I was in the area, but Detroit would be a most excellent idea. I would urge all people in the area to do a mass gathering there. As big as humanly possible!

Blocking the gates of GM, or so?
Baver said on December 22, 2011
How I would love to see that at GM’s corporate offices, but this is on a weekend, so it wouldn’t have any impact. Of course, if it was during the week, preventing senior GM staff from doing work MAY actually help the company by not advancing any more of their short-sighted and anti-human agenda.
