(Is the result of:
SAAB 90 + SAAB 92 + SAAB 93 + SAAB 94 (Sonett I) + SAAB 95 + SAAB 96 + SAAB 97 (Sonett II and III) + SAAB 98 (prototype SAAB 96 Combi-Coupé) + SAAB 99 + SAAB 900 + SAAB 9000.
The SAAB 9-3, SAAB 9-5 SAAB 9-4(x) and SAAB 9(x) didn’t I use, because the – sign could been seen as an minus sign and could make a lower result, when using a calculator.)
If you write 9-3 as 9^3, 9-5 as 9^5 and 9-4X as 9^4 you will get an even higher value. And the badges on the cars are actually written as “9 to the power of X”.
Yes, Grumpy. This is the Swedsish employees. Other countries will receive compensation (or not) according to the laws in the respective country. The UK subsidiary is in administration since before the Swedish one. What the UK rules re. salary guarantees (or not) are I don’t know.
On that topic – is the US subsidiary still formally trading or did it automatically go into administration as well? I am not sure how these things work with foreign subsidiaries.
Inside Saab still opens for me – but no updates since Swade’s last “If I wait any more this will have to be approved by the administrators -so screw that!” post. I’m sure (if he is still an employee) he now has an even bigger gag in his mouth, at least on that site. Shame to stiffle perhaps the biggest voice of reason in this whole episode.
Truer words were never spoken! Let the man speak!
One can only imagine how devastated, angry, sad………Swade is after all he has done for this company.
A better ambassador will NEVER be found.
Great news indeed!
Merry Christmas to SAAB employees and their families!
Thank you for your loyalty, perserverence, and hard work. It was not unnoticed.
Great news!
(…for now. But a still a shame if no new owner is chosen and secures continued car production in Trollhättan)
Anyway, no matter how this ends we have Victor to thank for keeping Saab alive the last two years and, hopefully, putting enough new exciting products in the pipeline for finding a new owner. He did not win all the battles, but perhaps enough for Saab to win the current really final battle.
While training today I was thinking about whether there was some way we all could thank him for all the hard work and devotion, and I got one idea. Perhaps everyone who wish could send some kind of thank you card (say, a postcard or a photo of you and your Saab, something personal saying thankyou). Perhaps if someone at SU sets up a mail adress for sending postcards or an e-mail-adress for sending electronic ones, anyone who wish can send a personal thankyou and then someone from SU can deliver a big joint thankyou (perhaps collected on a DVD if we choose electronic versions).
Just at thought what do you think? Tim has already delivered a handshake from all of us (which was a great idea). Should we settle for that or aim for something more?
So glad all those people on the front lines who have been through so much are getting taken care of – at least to a certain extent. I hope a change of events makes things even better for them in the future.
Yes, great news. My faith in Sweden is restored. I know what it is like to be in a workforce that is made redundant, with a family to look after. Delighted for the Trollhättan workers for three reasons: wages paid, an end to the months of creeping uncertainty and the prospect – which may be slim, granted – of a truly fresh start for those who want it in 2012.

I could have done that, but at that moment, as always, i didn’t think about that solution.

Merry Christmas to all Saab Employees. Swedes, Swades and others.
OT: I cannot open InsideSaab anymore. Does anybody know if there is a problem with it, or if it is my connection?
scmit02 said on December 21, 2011
Still works for me. Perhaps a connection issue.

I agree totally.
By the way, Inside Saab works at home, so I guess there is a new firewall or something at work.

Also, I would expect nothing less from Mr. Class Act Muller.

Great news indeed. But will employees also be paid for their work in December up until the bankruptcy was activated?
Snowshoe said on December 21, 2011
yes, I think up to the amount of 170 000 sek in total and then there is a limit in time as well.

That is really good, I’m happy for all those loyal Saab workers, they deserve not just a big thank but also their well earned pay.
By the way, I think SweGov should send an invoice for the wages to GM, cos they should be held responsible for the situation.
Happy Christmas (hope the Ghost of Christmas, past, present and future pays a visit to the responsible guys at GM).
