2944 Saab Original Photos uploaded

February 12, 2012 in Archive

It’s done… A few weeks ago Saab’s media site was closed down to the public, but before they were able to close it down, I was able to grab all the photos, press-releases etc. It will now all be available here on SaabsUnited, preserved in time for history! So over the past weeks I have been uploading 2944 original Saab photos, including some that were only offered on GM’s media site. A lot more stuff of historical value is scheduled for upload as well including videos and historical documents.

They are all located in the resources tab above under the link “Saab Original Photos“. Enjoy! =)

  1. Man you have been busy, thank you for saving all this history for us and showing us how much you care.

  2. Like ! great work !

  3. Did Sweden sign ACTA? :)

Seriously though, great job, so many thanks. Am I the only person feeling as if we were collectively going through a late person’s things, reminiscing about them and coming to terms with their departure?

  4. Thanks, they’re a great value to us Saab lovers.

  5. Thank you for your work. A great collection. The Aero X and the 9-X Air – I miss them on the roads.

  6. Link says “offline.”

  7. The site is not completely down if the Saab logo is shown at least :D

  8. Great job Tim. These would have been gone forever.

  9. Fantastic job done there Tim, well done.

  10. Glad to hear they were all fetched. How about some of the videos? I along with a couple of other fellow members managed to get some of the photos and videos. They were uploaded here:

Under my section, the first directory, there is everything for the new 9-5 2010. In there are all of the videos for that. They had some pretty amazing videos so I hope they were also retrieved. Regardless, some are uploaded there.

    • I’m guessing TimR will be uploading those as well later on. Good job btw!

I’m working on mirroring the SU photos to my site as well as added a few things from other sources. Will be sharing it once it’s ready for the public, currently it’s very much under construction.

  11. Thank you. I bookmarked the page!

  12. Sweet job ! Many thanks, this will bring back memories =)

  13. Wonderful!
Any chance of a torrent? I’d hate to see your bandwidth costs explode.

  14. Thanks Tim!
I did this myself back in December 2009 / January 2010.

  15. Fantastic work Tim! :D
It must have taken a lot of time to do this, but these pictures are really worth saving. Thank you!

  16. Much appreciated!

  17. Wheren’t there any images on the concept cars 9-x and 93-x Concept ? The “original” small three door models ?

  18. Excellent work, Tim! Highly appreciated :)

  20. thank you so much!!

  21. Thanks!
Seen four not fully uploaded/downloaded photo’s in the 92 and 96 section (hope that’s fixable sometime in the future).

  22. What a hell of a job this must have been!
It’s great to see all those SAAB’s and in which way i can give a compliment, i will do that to those who have done this fantastic job!

  23. Thanks for this important work!
    (No images of the 9-7X..?)

  24. Thanks! Great job!
Just please don’t save all the data at mega-upload or some other plattform that’s getting busted… ;-)

  25. great work SU.

  26. Fantastic work! Thanks! Now, where will I find the time to look at 2,944 photos? I’m getting old.

  27. Thank you so much, Tim. Exceptional!

  28. No early 9000′s (’86-’88)? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

  29. Thanks, Tim. Your dedication is appreciated.

Looked at all the pics. Is there any car that embodies Scandanavian design more than the 99?

  30. Very good Job!!!. Thanks.

  31. There is a backup of the original media and newsroom-site online; and it’s the last version that was online. We did managed to save as much as possible. It’s only purpose is to preserve some of the “online Saab heritage”.

Great work by the SU-team for saving so much images and putting them online.

The archive can be found at Saab Web Archive

  32. Looks a bit like my Saab 9-5, but my 9-5 is dark green and has wheels with more spokes.
