The Annual Thornfalcon Classics , UK Show

The Annual Thornfalcon Classics , 2nd September 2012, at The Parklands, Henlade, nr. Taunton, Somerset.  Last year’s event was another great success with a record attendance of more than 1,100 vehicles. Many visitors credit the popularity of our meeting to its format: IT’S FREE OF CHARGE, NO BOOKING IS NECESSARY (although it does help to know in advance if car clubs and large groups wish to attend), and come and go, as and when you please. It is primarily a lunch-time meet, from 11.00am to 2.30pm but many people arrive much earlier and some stay later. Visitors arrive from all over the South of England – many even further. The average number of exhibits often exceeds the one thousand mark! It’s a meeting, not a show, so your vehicle does not necessarily have to be in pristine condition. Most marques are represented, from the mainstream to the obscure, including commercial vehicles, motor bikes and tractors. Last year a vintage combine harvester arrived, causing quite a stir!

Currently we have a number of SAABS attending. If you would like to join us please add you name here:
1) David and Anne – 99T
2) Chris and Doreen – 96
3) Martin Lyons- C900
4) Tony – Tonyb152 og9-3

That’s a very good-looking Saab 9000 in the picture! The first model years of the 9000 CC are very nice I think. They look both majestic and nimble at the same time, unlike many new cars from other brands which look very clumsy. 🙂

Just to confirm, everything is now booked.
I have also booked some spare places, for anyone who decides at the last moment, they would like to join us.

Weather forecast is good (21 degrees, sunny intervals, no rain) and it looks like this years event may be the biggest yet

Yes indeed it was a great day. This was my first visit to this event and I have to say it will now be one for the calender next year. A very enjoyable day.

Cheers Robin. Despite the overcast skies everyone seemd to have a most enjoyable day strolling around the site, though it was almost impossible to actually see all the cars there, such were the numbers.
Another typical GWS gathering – very laid back, social meet with some cars thrown in to the mix!
Also a very special thanks to all those who travel led a fair distance to attend including sgould (Will), Chris (transit80), James (montecarlojim) and Pete (petemate).
Apologies to those I didn’t get to chat to this time including Dominic, Nick, JohnD & Trevor. Hope to make up for it next year!
