A few months ago we were the first to give the people of Sweden the good news of a brand new parts distribution service, a few weeks later it was announced that Maptun Parts was to be translated and launched for Finland and Denmark as well.

Today I was given the green light to announce that Maptun Parts will very soon be launched as an english version with world-wide distribution. What this means is that any customer anywhere in the world will be able to order parts either online from your computer or directly from your smart-phone for very competitive prices. The website is highly flexible with drag-and-drop capability, part-number search, key-word search and a very easy way to select parts for multiple types of cars.

Maptun has categorized its parts service into four segments and focuses mainly on spare parts or service items for your car, these are the four categories: Genuine, After-Market, Economy and Second Hand. The concept gives you the option of finding the parts best suited to your financial situation. A concept that has been highly appreciated in Sweden. When I visited Maptun at this time last year I was first told about the project and now Maptun has just moved in its parts company into a brand new facility and is very busy with setting it up. Even though the new warehouse is really big with parts stockpiled on two different floors the guys at Maptun told me that it will probably not be enough.

About two months ago Maptun also hired a new employee to work with packaging and shipping of parts. But from my last visit to Maptun a two weeks ago I could tell that they will need a couple of more employees as the demand for parts has grown significantly. Maptun Performance is also hard at work with developing new products and I’ve heard that we might be seeing some very cool products, hopefully within a few months that will make our Saabs look that much better and more fun to drive!
