Saabs Auctioned at KvD (again)

gp.se mentiones today that again (and maybe for the last time) a lot of Saabs is auctioned. One very special vehicle is the one above as it is a 9-5 2.9 TiD (Alpha) superdiesel with 245 hp.

Somehow bittersweet that this mule only shows up to the public because Saab went bankrupt, but it gives a hint on how many possible engines the guys at Powertrain have implemented in various Saab models back then to check all options.

Other cars in that auction are according to gp.se 31x 9-4x, 7x 9-5 SC, 37x 9-5 (MY2012) and one of three existing 9-3 Sedan in Skyblue and the last 9-3x that were made at Stallbacka.

As usual the auction is open for everyone and you can have a look at the cars on KvD’s homepage or download the English pdf list of the cars.

And if you should have the idea of getting one of those cars and are not sure if those cars can be registered, here’s an experienced dealer you can contact for assistance.

Today we have received an e-mail from KvD, stating that this auction is open to everyone, dealers as well as private people, as opposite to the last one.

Is it really true that the auction at KvD is open only to dealers?

Thanks. There’s a nice downloadable English language pdf at the above-mentioned KvD link with photos and descriptions of the cars, 81 pages.

KVD’s Saab auction website is available in English too – maybe it’s more suitable to link to that one:

How has 6 9-5 SC floated up to the surface? Didn´t they sell them all at the previous auction? Where has all the 9-4x cars been hiding?

Apparently there are still some left. Not bad, people who missed out can try again now.

…and most of the 9-4X’s are Aeros!

Keep in mind the Aeros are all US spec

That lot is once again filled with diamonds.

Canadian spec’ed 9-4x’s, 2012 European spec’ed 9-4x with COC. Pacific/China 9-4x a SkyBlue 9-3 Sedan and many 9-5 Sedan and Sportcombi.

Too bad that my garage is already full. 🙂

Interesting to see that the 9-5s for 2012 did not get a new dash treatment as promised and the Aero model had thigh extensions for both driver and passenger, as it should’ve been all along.

Great to see the 9-4xs. Sad to see they were made by GM in Mexico (which I knew, but still not happy about) and the lack of colors available. The vehicle does look sharp in black.

Hope they find good homes.

Upon further inspection, it does appear that some received a new dash treatment. At least I detect more reflection in some of the photos than mine puts out.

I’ve sat in a few MY12 9-5s and I think all of them had the new nice-looking dashboard fascia. 🙂

Baver, get that US spec silver SportCombi use it hauling timber and beavers in rainy Oregon!

Wish I had the money for it. Could sell my pick-up and supplement the NG9-5 sedan with a sportcombi instead! Would hate to get it dirty, though.

Baracuda

Most of them only have parts of the New dash. Keep in mind that these are pre-production cars that were Never supposed to go to customers. The real MY12 would have had the new dash!

Not that it matters, of course – but too bad they still had that hideous radio out of the 1970’s. Have to get the navigation.

With this VM motori 2.9 turbodiesel (550 Nm) in the 9-5 Sedan and Combi and the 9-4X the situation for Saab would have looked much different in the European markets.

Yes, but GM killed the engine before it killed Saab.

Is this then the only car equipped with this engine that is on the “open market”????

Red J

If you mean the only Saab car, then the answer is yes, but you can still get a Lancia Thema with that engine.

I did not know that. Saab and Lancia….rings a bell!

Red J

Well it is even a Lancia Thema, but this time it is just a rebadged Chrysler 300.

Hey guys,
I just came across this site.
I am so excited, that you can not imagine, but I need you help! I am a huge saab fan I own a saab 95.
These cars on the auction, is there any possibility to use them in Germany?
For example:
Saab 9-3 2.0t BioPower Aero Sport Sedan has COCbut its deregisterd and has a purple point.
I am looking for a 9.3 or a 95. that I can bring to Germany and drive it.
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Thom

Some of the cars with a registration can be taken anywhere and driven. The cars that are de-registered are former test cars and can not be registered

thomas

In this auction all the 9.3 and 9.5 cars are deregistered.:( so no chance for me to use them here?

thomas, some 9-5 combis have already been registered in Germany:
http://saabsunited.saabklubben.se/2013/03/four-9-5-ii-sportcombis-meeting-in-kiel-germany.html

I suggest you get in touch with Mr Lafrentz and ask for his opinion. There might be variations this time that could complicate matters. (such as the one 9-5 with a diesel engine not seen in any Saabs before)

I want a sedan, 9.3 or 9.5 but they write they are deregistered, I hoep somebody can help me. (I wrote an e-mail to Mr. Lafrentz.)
