9-5 Drivers (2010-) 5 days, 7 hours agoWindshield glass is now available for 2010 and 2011 Saab 9-5s with HUD, Rain Sensor, and Lane Cameras. It’s aftermarket, comes from Saint-Gobain in Ohio (they get it from Europe) and I had one installed today. Apparently me requesting this glass from Safelite got them to order it and stock their warehouses in the US as we went from none…[Read more]

9-5 Drivers (2010-) 2 weeks, 1 day agoI’m so happy with my 9-5 Aero 2011, making a statement between all those German lookalikes. I got mine last year in april one off the last made, I praise myself lucky. I already promised myself I would keep it as long as possible.

9-5 Drivers (2010-) 1 month agoMiddle tail light not glowing bright? Anyone else experience this?
-
Probably no way to post a picture of that? How did you figure it out?
-
I first noticed it when unlocking the car at night – when the car is programed to have the pip lighting glow, the fog lights illuminate, and the rear lighting glow bright. But on this occasion the middle rear lighting was very dim and inconsistent. Then I asked my wife to press the brake to confirm (which it did).
-
I’ll have to unlock the car at night periodically and look for that. If we had warranties, that would be covered. Do you plan to do anything about it?
-
I’m due for an oil change in about 1,000 miles (also not covered but should be), I’ve have it fixed at that time.

9-5 Drivers (2010-) 1 month, 2 weeks agoWith about 18K on my 9-5 I just purchased the standard extended warranty through GM 60/50 zero deductible for about two grand, you can buy less or more…Thought I won the lottery… On another topic I just had my car serviced and tires rotated, has anyone experience major steering wheel vibrations at 65 to 70 when accelerating, funny thing by…[Read more]

Is there a website about the warranty options or do you have to buy it through a dealer? On the other topic, I’ve not had any vibrations on my 9-5 Aero in any setting unless the tires are cold but it goes away in a few miles.
-
Allstate, as I understand it, is the only company selling warranties for the new 9-5. I believe that you can purchase firectly from them
-
-
I’m at 18,400 miles now, without vibration. Will let you know if that changes. I usually keep mine in ”intelligent” mode, though this weekend I switched it to ”sport” for grins.
-
I’ve experienced the wheel vibrating since day one. I now have about 25,000 miles on my 2010 9-5 Aero. I notice it mostly in the mornings when getting up to speed on the highway. I usually improves – but doesn’t entirely go away – once I’ve driven for about 10 minutes.

I use to connect it to my (any) PC, add and manage new music, auto update the playlists and take the USB drive back to the car.

9-5 Drivers (2010-) 1 month, 2 weeks agohave tried to get some advice on how to remove the clear turn signal covers on my Aero XWD turbo6, the ones just above the fog lights, it seems no one has had any need for this as yet but if there is any advice out there it would be most welcome….

9-5 Drivers (2010-) 1 month, 2 weeks agoPowertrain – unbalance.
Have just two weeks ago bought a 2011 9-5 Aero 2.0 T Biopower Aut XWD. It is nice to see the responce in this group for this wonderful car and I hope to have good use for this and will contribute as well. Have faced some questions though. I have found a lack of power at slow acceleration in rews about 2000 rpm. At the same…[Read more]-
To connect to your phone’s contact list, there is a very specific way you must say commands. They will not display on the NAV screen, you will actually be connected to your phone’s list. I will have to try it and write the steps down and then I can relay them back to you. It is SOMEWHERE in the instructions, but not where you would expect it to…[Read more]

Staffan, Assuming your phone is set up properly, you should be able to hit the phone button on the steering wheel and when you here the beep, say “HANDSFREE”, then wait for her to say ‘Ready’, then you say “BLUETOOTH”, wait for her to say ‘Bluetooth Ready’, then you say “VOICE”. Then she will say ‘Accessing Staffan’s phone’, then…[Read more]

9-5 Drivers (2010-) 1 month, 2 weeks agoCan anyone comment on the Hirsch performance to enhance horsepower in the 9-5 Aero..I feel like it needs some extra power even when I turn the sport mode on..I guess the weight is a factor particularly if I compare with my 9-3 aero.
-
I do not have an Aero but a 2.0 Tid and have the Hirsch performance upgrade.
That indeed makes the car a lot better. Am really satisfied with that upgrade. -
garciro, if you mean 2.0T Aero, Hirsch is IMHO highly recommended if you wanna have fun. The original power is enough for the car but after Hirsch, it’s much more fun. You can go to the Hirsch dealer and test the software on your car before you buy it. (Sport mode has nothing to do with power…).

9-5 Drivers (2010-) 2 months agoHad a deep sound in my car, especially when getting into a lower gear. So went to see the dealer.
They made a short trip and came back with the diagnose; the wheel in the turbo is wiggling.
New wheel will be installed under warranty.-
I’ve had a bit of a ”raking” sound on a couple of occasions. Thinking I better purchase a warranty soon. Not counting on our North American ones to be reinstated anymore, sadly.
-
Anyone know a good third party warranty for a reasonable price? 4 yr /48000 mi would be nice but I’m probably really only looking at another 3 years with the car, now with 7K miles on it.
-
-
The part that needs to be replaced did already arrive at my dealer and I received an invitation to go there to replace the part in the turbo. That shows how good the warranty system works in the Benelux and in France where Beherman is the company that distributes the Saab parts
-
Have had the part replaced; in fact it is NOT in the turbo itself but just a small magnetic valve in the front of the car that regulates the air going into the turbo.
That magnetic valve was defect.
Replacement done in not even 5 minutes.

9-5 Drivers (2010-) 2 months ago - Load More

Saint-Gobain in France is one of Saabs original suppliers as well, both this company and Pilkington have delivered windshields for Saab since the 90’s…
Except the OEM windshield glass was not available when we did a dealer search back in Feb/Mar … not in USA and not in Sweden.
Have you found some from SG-France or Pilkington for a 2010/11 9-5 Aero with all the ”loaded” features?
ANA bought the last 20 or so of my type that were in the SAAB factory … when they bought all the remaining parts. …[Read more]
