+1
The paint is available as non-OEM paint through various companies on the web. Just Google search “touch up paint Saab 9-5″

Sounds like you have the big block letters ”SAAB” like we have in our 9-4X.

9-4x Drivers 1 month, 3 weeks agoBe very careful with the infortainment buttons … my wife uses a little too much nail and too little fingertip on ours, and now the Band button is chipping. They are cheap GM buttons that apparently right now cannot be individually replaced. When the “paint” chips away, we are left with white … not the nicest look for a wonderful CUV. …[Read more]

Is […] ViewThere is a firmware update for the clock and a few other navigation unit “quirks” … not sure about the iPhone, but seems like the fix would correct that issue too. The team at Saab of Memphis loaded the firmware update in my 2010 Aero over a year ago, and it is holding, and fixed all my naviagation/clock issues. Your service center tech will…[Read more]

I can’t speak to the lawsuit chatter on SU.
However, for all the passion you feel for the brand in general, we feel an equal amount of passion about the windshield issue and passion about keeping our NG 9-5s […]

I received a press release, or read a newspaper article that said an agreement had been reached.
Regardless, on the plus side, there are windshields available.

My insurance company paid $1200 for installation of my category 2 windshield (when I needed a category 3). My premiums did not increase as a result. Now if I broke glass once a year or so, they might have an […]

I did this. Contrast is fine even on bright sunny days. The image is just a little blurry. Not blurry enough that you can’t use it however. I would still rather drive with Cat 2 glass in my car than cracked […]

I count on SPNA to be our liaison here in US with Saab Parts.
At an absolute minimum, a windshield film that can take a HUD projection and turn it into a non-blurry display needs to be developed. Has to […]

Sure they can as long as the crack didn’t spread too far, dirt didn’t get in the hole, etc.

I haven’t heard anyone clamoring for category 2 replacement windshields. I honestly didn’t know those could not be found.
The big issue is the category 3 (HUD) variant. I know at least 20 people right now […]

In reply to: Chris Carrier posted an update in the group 9-4x Drivers Steering is sometimes noisy, perhaps more in cold weather? It’s a scrapy sound, not the typical power steering whine. Anyone experienced this? View@Rune … I get that sound backing out of the garage and turning the wheels in the driveway the first time … a squishy sound and feel. Nothing at speeds though.

In reply to: Chris Carrier posted an update in the group 9-4x Drivers Well, we got bit in the butt but the no-spare-tire decision. I can’t imagine a spare kit is available to fit in the cargo area under the floor, but I haven’t checked the Cadillac site for it either.

In reply to: Chris Carrier posted an update in the group 9-5 Drivers (2010-) What happened to the post about a SPNA warranty? I went to view the details and could not find it. I’m wondering if SU was asked to remove it. ViewSpeaking of which, I got the no-cost BG Products/oil change yesterday at Saab of Memphis. The only thing they didn’t have at the ready was the paperwork, which they said they’d be mailing me this week or next. In any case, I’m ”in.”

In reply to: Chris Carrier posted an update in the group 9-5 Drivers (2010-) I have a few lights in my third brake light out. Anyone dealt with this issue and replacement? ViewThe good news is the trunk light bar is still available. I, too, just got it replaced yesterday and it would have cost around $475+labor had my dealer not covered it.
The bad news is I do not have a cost for the brake light (lower part of rear windshield) … I can’t imagine it would be more than $100 or 2, plus labor. So that is LED also?
