As far as I can see, these cars have the Griffin logo on each side of the car! =)
I think that ANA made them into real Griffin’s regardless of what they were called by SAAB GB…

Yep, as far as we know it is due to some kind of copyright issue…

That plate stuff you’ll have to explain to me!
But this one is the Griffin version which are 2012 year models. They went into production in april-may. Only about 500 were made.
The first thing that reveals […]

Which considerations are you referring to?

You are glossing over quite a bit of history there.
GM had the ball in their court when they selected Spyker in the first place. And they were instrumental in making sure a significant part of Spyker’s […]

@Keith, GM did not allow Saab to borrow money from the Chinese. If GM do not care to get paid, why should anyone else care about GM?
GM actively put Saab into this position, every inch of the way.

I have to agree with this. I also want to add that I had a dream last night where I was cruising around in a new 9-4x. My first Saab dream. I must be spending too much time thinking about cars. On the plus side, […]

It should have been 4,99 meters, then it would have sold a lot more!

SVD.SE (original article here): According to SVD.se’s sources a deal could be made in which Mahindra or Youngman are allowed to produce the new 9-5 until 2017. This due to a contract that Spyker has with GM, in […]

I honestly don’t think we’ll see another 9-5 from the current line-up roll off the production line again. All the tooling for the car has been removed from the factory in Trollhättan on the request of GM, and it […]

Never thought of this potential motive, but it makes sense – sadly (from another website)
But it could also result in GM buying back the license from Spyker to prevent future use of the license.

Agree, but perhaps Victor and Company’s actions will spur some kind of a positive outcome for Saab production going forward. Glad he’s still fighting.

Oh, it’s big. It doesn’t drive big, but it is much longer than the OG 9-5. Still would be great to get our warranties back, though (although neither potential owner has hinted that this would occur).

Splitting hairs here… But if the story is “producing the 9-5 requires GM’s approval”, then it remains the same story as told over a year ago.
That said, GM’s sabotage action in December deserves an aftermath. […]
