A lot of the key personnel has moved on and will not be available for a buyer…
Exactly what had to be be feared. The slow process takes a toll, not just with respect to dealers. Will be expensive to rehire […] -

We hear that since several years. And it has been so wrong. Unfortunately, dealers have to sell cars, being able to keep clients and render service and maintenance. Clients loose confidence, key people get jobs […]

michaelb commented on the post, Final bid on Saab before the end of March 1 year, 2 months ago
Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. The dealer network will be virtually gone, and if there is no production for 1-2 years, it will be a complete restart. The only candidate, that makes sense to me, would be […]

I see another much more promising solution: Up to now 2 solutions have been discussed. One, a buyer takes SAAB over without GM licenses, at best starts to build the 9-3 in a couple of months, potentially having to […]

What a silly comment. He has to look for himself, has been loyal till the end. Congratulations to Volvo to have hired such a competent engineer / manager. No reason to hate Volvo, if somebody deserves disgust, it […]

The new owners if smart will try to rehire these engineers gone, and they will have to pay premia for that, upfront and / or higher salaries. These people will have probation periods, and if they have confidence […]

michaelb commented on the post, Reuters: Youngman prepares new bid 1 year, 4 months ago
You forget about the dealers. The dealer network is collapsing, and noone will come back to SAAB in order to sell one model, the 9-3, perceived as outdated, for 1-2 years to come. Then, a new 9-3, maybe a very […]

michaelb commented on the post, Re-starting with the 9-3 – is that enough? 1 year, 4 months ago
There are several aspects. The administrators will look at who pays most. IF YM’s offer is by far the highest, they will have to take it. From a THN, Saab and longer term perspective, unfortunately, this is not […]

michaelb commented on the post, We are many, We are SAAB Stickers! 1 year, 4 months ago
Interest from potential buyers is one thing, GM behavior other thing. If GM does not renew the licenses to SAAB and deliver parts and engines, SAAB’s future is definitely different.
GM’s options have narrowed a […] -

Hi Swade,
I fully understand your frustration. Nevertheless, things are a little more complicated than just black and white. I cannot neither read nor understand Swedish press, thus I cannot judge on it. But […]

Opel is playing in a different field, no competitor to Audi, BMW, Mercedes. Opel’s competitors are Skoda’s, Peugeots, Renault’s, Fiat’s at the upper end VW’s.

Rune,
I really do not want to hit at VM more. What I do not like, however, is the apologetic justifications by yourself and other SaabsUnited writers about VM in the sense, he did everything right, it […] -
michaelb commented on the post, What will happen with SaabsUnited? 1 year, 4 months ago
My point was not even primarily linked to what I think personally, but what stakeholders would be thinking about an important role for VM in future. I am afraid I am 100% right about it.
But your question is a […]

michaelb commented on the post, What will happen with SaabsUnited? 1 year, 4 months ago
This blog would loose a lot of credibility, if it is just a VM support blog. A rational consideration will tell you that no investor will give VM another chance as a key executive, except for what he is in now, […]

If one of the big European groups should enter the race, forget about Youngman. They would be gone, probably would be paid out.

Resourcewise, VW would be the strongest backing, both financially and technically, with large experience in moving ailing and existing brands upmarket. I do not know if it would be the best solution for Saab’s […]

There must be better solutions. For most of the dealer network this would be a killer.

My dealer will cancel Saab, will change dealership into another brand, but promises to continue service for Saab’s. Sad, was one of the countries largest and certainly the best dealers.

I think you are right, that a slim hope is still there. At this stage, there is nothing to be done about it. Potential buyers probably will be prepared and have their initial thougths sorted out. It is important, […]

This study is not worth to be taken as the starting point. There are a lot of omissions. Better come back to the subject, once the dust has settled.
