Why not for one second consider what is the link between M&M and Dong Feng Motor?
-Actually they both own stakes in Peugeot
& Citroen……n they both have interest in Saab!
Maybe Saab, Citroen, Peugeot, Ssangyong…. Are the basis for a new autogroup?
Sell me a new 900 Sonett-E XWD. With the dna of Swedish car design n the tech similar to Tesla. CIamshell bonnet, n castriota rear lights, tested on Swedish frozen rivers, n moose dummies.
Stamp Sonett 99 XWD and im all in.
N do own one brand that can be sold: The Sonett.
As far as buying à new car I can see myself in à scandinavian buildt: Sonett 99 or a Sonett 9000.
Would like to read a Sonett v.s Tesla coverage or a convertible Sonett Air.
Why not give à designer / team of designers the brief;
1. Imagine you were back in late 80s and you are designing the successor to the original 900, but through out the aspect of designing it on an Opel platform.
The platform is the ‘Phoenix’ offering all possibilities. The technology has to be ‘smart’ and the end customer is a new breed of;…[Read more]
Its not rocket science, to re-invent a brand! Look at Volvo and u get the point.
With a thorough analysis what the essence was in the 92, 99, 900 and 9000, I would say u get enough design clues, to build something genuine.
The only reason a new Saab buildt from the ground up would fail, is if the marketing department screws up in telling the…[Read more]
NEVS was from day 1 a high-risk project. KJJ is a gambler to take such a risk, but then so are many other self made business owners.
Saab was the bate for KKJ to access big money. Big money was in the form of Chinese Regional Governments, and secondly other Auto manufacturers. The first investor group failed, due to bad fortune, the people with…[Read more]

Lets not forget WHO is Saab Defence most important customer…. – The Swedish Government.
If the goverment wants to re-establish car production in T, they would sure know how to apply preassure on sharing the brand name. Remember WHO was the first company to hire the ex. Engineers after Saab/spyker went belly up…Saab Combitech.

Parden me but doesnt anyone get this: Nevs only made the marketing plan to lure investments from china, the primary objective was not to sell cars but to raise the funds that Nevs never had. It was investments from / or approved by the Chinese government that was the road to the pot of gold.
Even Nevs admit that the manufacturing of gasoline 9-3…[Read more]

Saab might have technical capability to rise from the very dark hole they are in now, but it lacks the strategic people that makes the right marketing decisissions, the departments that can envision the future 3, 5, 10 years from now, the designers that now how to cultivate a brand that is taking the lead into new avenues of modern life.
Remember that the NEVS management does enjoy good swedish government relations that has come handy before. In a negotiation Mahindra knows that ‘the Saab brand’ is important for all future decisions on investment and product development. So if negotiations are comming to an end, and a deal is near, there would be other things on the table. For…[Read more]
If any investor had to rebuild the Saab business of making cars, they would be faced with two choices:
1. Build a ‘very exclusive’ new Saab that defined a new market position. This would be a loss making product but lay the foundation for the next generation of cars / multiple size combinations.
Or, why not:
2. Build the modern iconic…[Read more]
Some say Saab is a local ‘god’ in its home town. The volcano where young production workers are sacrificed to, where smoke means life, where treamor means business. Where new model launches are primitive celebrations of life. I grew up here and remember the fathers telling their sons; – boy, u better run, one day they will be closing down this…[Read more]
At the darkest hour of the nite, the morning is closer than one might expect.
Saab might not have new models as in the spyker era, a heavy staff of past years, or even a huge following and customer base, but it has a unique and historical sense of freedom to define its own destiny. Its essentially ‘free’ from Swedish government Ministers,…[Read more]
