Don`t know where you got that info, Monique, but Minis are made at Cowley, Oxford, UK. The first Mini is at Motor Museum at Gaydon, Warwickshire, UK. Some limitged models are, I believe, assembled in Austria by Steyr Puch from KD kits.
Pity what happened to MG didn`t happen here – at least the factory would be producing something and some jobs would have been created. MG are not producing many cars, and what they are producing are from KD kits from China, but they are recruiting more dealers and the cars are designed and engineered by British designers at Longbridge.
