I posed a question last week as to whether or not the new Saab 9-3x production vehicle would be available with a diesel engine.
I’ve heard a little more since then and the answer is both ‘yes’ and ‘no’.
It seems that the Saab 9-3x will basically be an up-country version of the exisiting Saab 9-3 SportCombi range with a similar offering of powertrain and XWD.
The market I’ve heard about is a European market, where the Saab 9-3x will be offered on both 2WD and XWD configurations.
The XWD vehicles will be available with the 2.0T gasoline engine.
Unfortunately, it seems the XWD/diesel problem is still unsolved. Whilst Saab’s brilliant TTiD engine will be available in the 9-3x, the information made available to me indicates that it will only be available in the 2WD model.
