When it was feared that Saab might lose use of the Griffin logo, some suggested subtle changes to it so that Saab could continue to use it.
Recent news indicates that Saab can and will continue to use the Griffin, albeit in a more subtle manner as they place more emphasis on the Saab name and wordmark.
Whilst were all busy chagrinning the Griffins loss, SU regular Markac got out his photoshop software and started playing around with the traditional Saab Griffin with the thought of conjuring up a viable alternative.
These are his preliminary results, which he’s given me the OK to post here. It seems this effort is no longer needed, but I thought they were worth some discussion anyway.
Comments are open. If you’ve made similar attempts or have ideas of your own for an alternative Saab logo then please email your graphic to me. I’ll collect them for a week or so then put them all up here at once for the readership’s consideration.
My thanks to Mark for his efforts and being willing to share them here.

The current Saab logo…..
This one has a more ‘royal’ type blue and brings some significant gold into the image to tie in with the Swedish flag a bit more.
Mark thought he’d play around with removing the crown. The desire here was to distance the emblem from the Griffin used by other Saab entities.
In this final image, the gold is replaced with a real yellow, with the screaming chicken colored the same way.
