I believe Jan-Ake Jonsson is giving his presentation to Sweden’s parts suppliers today on The Future of Saab.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall in that room.
e24.se have a larger, longer article about yesterday’s news concerning the Koenigsegg purchase of Saab.
There’s not a whole lot of extra information there, but the significance in the story is that it’s no longer an ‘un-named source’ telling the story, it’s Saab’s PR people themselves.
Both Eric Geers and Gunilla Gustavs from Saab are quoted in the article, stating that the final 3billion SEK has been sourced and that a new investor is on board. It seems GM may be providing some of the funding, but it’s not the whole 3billion as suggested by some news sites yesterday.
- Gunilla Gustavs: “We can now say that we are convinced that this deal will be finalized.”
- Eric Geers: “We are convinced that it is a done deal. The sale will take place within a month.”
- Halldora von Koenigsegg says that they hope to make it public next week.
Back to suppliers……
TTELA has a story about Saab and suppliers today. Saabs biggest parts suppliers have now reached an agreement with Saab whereby Saab pay their invoices faster than 45 days. The alternative had probably been bankrupt suppliers and/or no deliveries.
Thanks to ctm and Carl-Henrik for the updates!
