Saab Saved Celebration – Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

As Swade remarked in his previous post, the breadth of Saab lovers and their activism is impressive. From our own SaabKen comes this summary of the day’s events in Vancouver, BC:

Well under a grey, wet (typical Vancouver) sky, a dozen or so SCWC-ers gathered at Coquitlam IKEA on the morning of January 30 2010 to celebrate a new chapter in SAAB’s history.
Even the less-than-ideal weather could not in any way damper the tremendous amount of energy, enthusiam and positive outlook shared amongst our Saabers today. We also had the pleasure of welcoming a few new members, who brought along their beautiful fleet of recent Saabs, including a Turbo X sedan, 9-3 Aero XWD sedan and the most recent 9-5 Aero HOT sedan. Nevertheless, Saab tradition is maintained by the stalwart presence of NG900, OG9-3 Viggen, 9000 and a pristine C900T convertible.
After the initial gathering where we proudly mounted our SAAB SAVED placards in our cars, we proceeded to hit the road to get some road time and exposure to other motorists. As well as visit our dear friend and local Saab champion Bill Convery at Dueck Saab in Richmond, where he jovially greeted us and kindly gave us more than an hour of his time to talk about all things Saab. We are very hopeful of continued Saab retailing in 2010 and look forward to seeing Bill being on the center stage of that process.

I, too, am looking forward to the rise of the Canadian Saab organization, and I am glad to learn that there are those in Canada to augment those efforts.
