- Independent Saab strengthens executive team
- New Business and Purchasing Directors appointed
- Both tasked with forging new commercial partnerships
Trollhättan, Sweden: Saab Automobile is making two key executive appointments, effective 1 April, to exploit new business opportunities as it moves ahead as an independent company.
Martin Larsson, 41, former Executive Director – Purchasing, takes up a newly created role as Executive Director – Business Development, responsible for forging new commercial partnerships for the company.
He is succeeded by Kjell-Åke Eriksson, 58, who will lead the purchasing organization while remaining General Manager of Saab Sweden until a replacement is named.
Announcing the directorial appointments today, Saab Automobile President and CEO Jan Åke Jonsson said: “We are now up and running as an independent company with great opportunities to develop new commercial relations with businesses outside the General Motors organization.
“I have great confidence in both Martin and Kjell-Åke as they have the necessary experience, through working for Saab in Sweden and abroad, to build these new alliances.”
The management changes are part of a strengthening of the executive leadership team in Saab Automobile’s development as a stand-alone business. They follow the appointment last week of Adrian Hallmark as Executive Director, Sales.
