Saab 9-5 Taxi in Finland

I love it when I hear people getting excited about a new car purchase. I’m a compulsive car shopper, myself, so I completely understand the excitement and appreciation of picking up a new set of wheels.

This is kind of special, though, as this 9-5 purchase is more than just a daily driver. It’s a living for Henri U, a taxi driver from Finland.

In Finland, you have to drive taxis for someone else before you can secure a taxi licence of your own. Henri got his licence back in late 2003 and the first taxi he bought was a 2004 Saab 9-5 2.0t.

His second car was a MY2006 Saab 9-5, 2.0t once again, but this time with a bit of Hirsch juice (to get people to their destination a little quicker ๐Ÿ™‚ )

The third car in his line was a MY2007 Saab 9-5 with a 2.3T….

When things were looking shaky for Saab last winter, Henri was a little worried about putting in his newest order. Things worked out OK, though, and last Monday, Henri picked up the newest in his long line of Saab cabs – a 2011 Saab 9-5 BioPower Aero!

From Henri:

I think my car is the first 9-5 as taxi in Finland and for sure it is first AeroTaxi… ๐Ÿ™‚

I drove it 500km in two days, and it is magnificent! I ordered the Infotainment system, Harman/Kardon system and HUD in my car. Parchment leather seats and black car makes a superb combination!

Picking the new car up….

Getting the taxi gear fitted…..

And ready to roll…..

My congratulations to Henri.

If you’re getting a cab in Finland in the next few weeks and it happens to be this car, then make sure you say hello!
