I thought at least this year this wouldn’t happen, but never say never. Saab is in the front site of di.se and as head-banner on the site.
Thanks to Lundin for the hint

Wow, Never Say Never is right! I’m sure Saab got one hell of the deal considering the historical drama between the two.
Well, DI won’t be more negative towards Saab when they get their advertising money. “You don’t bite the hand that feeds you”…
+1…
Kills journalistic integrity, but its the truth.
ehh, I wouldn´t bet on it, besides Saab has done these kind of ads att DI.se before.
Everyone gets a “special” deal when buying media…..
Do you actualy know about a special deal or is it just a wish?
It seams that DI didn’t feel that they had to treat Saab in any speacial way despite the big ad. Antonovgate articles in DI shows just how litle the editor cares about the advertising…..
Wouldn’t it be smarter to wait with the ads until the SC is out for order?
The ad is for the Sedan, so I don’t understand why Saab should wait for the SC. (??)
Because the SC is a to be a better seller in Sweden and should be promoted in first hand? Maybe its good to promote the “lesser” of the two to get up the volumes on the Sedan also. Just me thinking aloud.
=)
I heard yesterday, for the first time, a radio ad on one of those dreadful commercial radio stations here in Sweden. I don’t listen to them much, since they’re extraordinarily mind-numbing with their endless nonsensical chatter mixed with a very limited repertoire of songs repeated ad nauseum. There are apparently a lot of people who do listen to those stations though, so it was pretty cool to hear a welcome commercial for once. What I didn’t like was how the commercial sounded. It was basically a long list of “this paper wrote that, that paper wrote this about the new… Read more »
The questions is whether you want listeners to those kind of radio stations to become your new fellow Saabers?
ahum, I´m already both Saab-owner and listener (if we talk about the two rock-stations). I think the commersial is great, it sums up all the positives (on the 180hp/119 gram 9-3) from the reviews of the big papers is sweden. There is a lot of Saab-lovers in Sweden, most of us in fact, and we do need these kind of facts when we argue for Saabs sake.
Mea Culpa –> flogging my back and putting on my camel hair shirt as penance….
Then brother, you shall be forgiven 🙂
Great, that damn shirt really starts to itch now.
Nah, the rock stations are probably ok. I’ve only ever listened to Bandit, which makes driving through the Gothenburg area less of a pain. I was talking about Rix FM, NRJ and the likes. You know, the sort of thing that makes you believe in the Devil (and that his presence on Earth is in the form of electromagnetic waves of select frequencies on the FM band). The kind where the presenters keep claiming they’ve got “the best mix of old and new music”, and then resort to playing some god awful crap by R Kelly over and over again… Read more »
Yes Gerrit, that is indeed the question. To each his own and all that, I guess.. and we can’t afford to be TOO picky, now can we? 🙂
Love your description of commercial radio stations 😀
I’ve heard probably the same ad every morning at the gym around 6.50 when the radio has the same station on each morning. I’ve been hearing it for about 1-2 months now.
I’m sure if you just stopped listening to those stations, their mind control or whatever it is they’ve got on you will cease shortly. You’ll see then that it’s possible (and, quite frankly, preferable) to NOT go to the gym at 6.50 in the morning. Sheesh.. 😉
I have seen ads like this one at DI.se before. I think it was in 2010 at the launch of the Saab 9-5 sedan. 🙂
You can never ignore the Power of the Media… I think SU is a living proof of that.
Besides I think this is a better situation than DI writing BS about Saab. After all, many of the DI readers are potential Saab buyers…
