Thank You !!!

No, I don’t want to thank you the management of Saab. I think I can congratulate them for achieving this, but now is the time for other people.

I want to thank you every single Saab employee that has decided to stay at Saab till the last minute. I want to thank you all of those that made the fight during the last five months worth while.

The Saab brand is not only the cars, but all the people related to it, us Saabnuts included, the Saab Automobile company is all of you, without you staying by your company I wouldn’t have waited, and will wait as long as needed, that long for my new car, and I think many here wouldn’t had either.

I’m an engineer, and that’s why there is also a special thank you to all those engineers at Saab that stayed there and kept on working and developing the products that will make us proud in the future.

Today, I feel like the guy from the first sketch.

Thank You !!!

  1. “The Saab brand is not only the cars, but all the people related to”. Thatยดs just what I feel, I am proud to be a Saab driver. Great community !

  2. To RedJ: Well said and heartfelt. As I can only speak for myself, and not the rest of the salespeople out there, I appreciate your words! ( I am sure we all do though!)

To most everyone else here: Thanks for your continued support and passionate debates. The Saab community continues to surprise me. Now to get on to the important stuff…getting more of these fine cars out on the roads! Back to work!

First though I think I’m going for a drive in my Saab. For fun. Now. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Totally agree. I wish all of the Saab employees the best for the future. I’ve been there at Trollhรคttan and visited the factory with a German group of SMTs (Saab master technician) as I was in Sweden for vacation a couple of years ago (9000 era). I knew Saab from the 900 classic, over the 9000, 900 NG/ 93-I and 95-I. This brand could not die. Production must ramp up asap.
Go ahead and build this nice Swedish cars. Maybe customer like me were glorifying Saab. I know that Saab (the employees) are very good in improvisation, technology integration and building a unique car. Just build them and you see happy customers. As loyal the customers are, as loyal the employees are.
Thanks for waiting on a solution (reconstruction, change in co-ownership, doing joint ventures with Pang Da/ Youngman).

  4. Great post to great people.
We will hopefully soon see, what has been created during the short stop in Saab life.

    Happy October Fest to everyone!

  5. Very well put, RedJ.
Saab is more than just cars, it’s the idea that a car should supplement the driver, it’s a workforce and dealers and owners that keep on believing. That’s why there are 2 Saabs on my driveway.

  6. I seem to recall that avatar from somewhere. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks from all of us to all of you at Saab who hung on with their unbending dedication to the company.

  7. Youยดre truly amazing all of you SAAB-fanatics =)

    HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY

Even my car carry a huge smile today!

SAAB is unique because of the people creating, building, driving and loving it.

Admirable job done so far – history is written and will be remembered!

  8. Great post!! I agree!! I also feel like the first sketch guy. I dream most nights that my Independence Edition 9-3 is currently on the assembly line. I can not wait to see the line start up again. It has been Christmas Eve for months now!!!

  9. I just hope that a new 9-5 wagon will be produced soon, getting a new owner here in Austria who then is selling his old 9-5 2.3t wagon (to me) ๐Ÿ™‚
If I had more money I’d go for a brand new 9-4x
    Griffin Up!

  10. As someone already said : amen to that … My dream will come true one day: I’ll earn enough money to buy a brand new saab, to drive it out of the store and live long enough to tell my grandchildren a stories about brave people all around the world, especially in Sweeden, who stood up and saved best car brand ever … ๐Ÿ˜€ And I’m glad I’m not only one who has that dream ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ “We will either find a way, or make one” ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. Well said, completely agree. The employees at Saab are creating a great brand story right now that gives Saab more emotion than all the German brands together. I sincerely hope Marketing succeeds in making this story a fundamental piece of the Saab brand.

  12. That “first sketch” is exactly how I feel when I drive my 9-3SS.

Thanks to those great people who design and build these great cars for sticking with Saab. We need you to help Saab thru this rough patch.

  13. OK now EVERYONE who has been sitting on the sidelines, “Band-Aiding” your old cars together while you waited for Saab to stabilize, get down to your local Saab dealer and buy a new 2011 Saab. Of course thank you to all of our loyalists who have already taken the leap of faith along with the dealer network.

  14. Thanks. It is long since i haven’t written due I had fast lost the hope. Now one more oportunity is given to saab, so lets continue doing great thinks. Thanks for giving me hope again and the possibility to continue buying the best Car to drive…..Saab.

  15. Today has been a wonderful day. And it’s a good time for a celebratory drink. But lets not forget that this is a *chance* at the trophy. Not the trophy itself. There’s still lots of important decisions to be made (correctly). Lots of opportunities to be seized.

With that in mind, Attention all Saab employees: THIS!

I wish you all the best of luck. As the owner of two Saab’s who hopes to keep owning them, I’ll be rooting/pulling/praying for you all.

  16. Well said. It’s odd to celebrate a restructuring (based on what it means) but it is good news indeed. Now, I’m looking forward to conversations focused on the actual cars! And getting this behind us.

  17. Thanks Red, and the rest of you, for your unending support.
Today was a good day. I didn’t actually dare believe in a positive verdict, but as soon as we learned, a couple of us went out to buy some pastry and we had an unusually nice 2 o’clock coffee break. The paychecks hitting our accounts in a few days time will definitely be very welcome too, and will undoubtedly boost the morale. We’ll need it – we have months of very hard work ahead of us before we can say with any form of certainty that we’re approaching the edge of the woods. But don’t worry, we’ve been known to work hard when it’s needed.. we’ll get there.

I’ll sleep well tonight I reckon. Thanks again, everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
