One of our readers found this yesterday, while reading the october issue of the WIRED magazine.
I like it, and not only because they seem to concentrate on the engineering side of it. đ

Note the tag line “Move Your Mind” is gone.
Perian,
you are right, it seems like the tag line is gone. I can’t find it on ans Saab site. I find it on MY 11 catalogues but not on MY 12 catalogues.
I’m fine with that – time for something new, and until there is resources to do that, maybe better to tlet the cars speak for themselves. Move your mind served us well but our minds have been moved so far in recent years, it’s time for a re-think and something very positive, when the time is right of course. January will hopefully mark a new chapter and maybe there will even be a tiny budget available for the right tag line.
Nice ad, but unfortunate that the car he was designing “years ago” was the 9-3 Sport Saloon, which is still on sale today!
I know it, you know it, but who else knows it (outside from SU) ? đ
I still like it – it’s a great philosophy for designing cars!
But that doesn’t contradict the ad/campaign. It’s an explanation of the origin of the sketch. It could have been the first Saab 900–Saab is stating that the philosophy is the same.
more, more, more adverts, more positive rumor, more virus marketing and official PR, more visibility of Saab in media
Great to see an Ad… but…
the headline sounds a bit like “first we made the Caddy look like a Saab and then we didn’t know what else we did”
Nice picture but weird CI, who invented that?
CI?

If this is the second instance of this reply I apologize.
Any add is perfect at this point.
Nothing wrong with this one.
I like the headline. It does reflect the feeling I got when I drove one.
Who all knows about the Cadillac filiation? In any case, better to be associated with Cadillac than Chevy if SAAB is to attract new to the brand buyers.
I think I just saw the toe twitch. I think Saab is still alive.
Bring up also the video showing the presentation of the 9-4X at SU October Fest.
This is not the first time I have seen this ad, but I cannot remember where I have seen it before. I am sure it was either on InsideSaab or here.
I can’t find it here.
Best advertisement to come out of Saab for some time.
Wonder if we’ll see positive press like this again?

Ah! What a fantastic reed. Complete with a SAAB advert from the time.
So it takes a hour to empty a tank at full throttle.
Those were the days my friend…
“We thought they’d never end”
I have a good feeling they’ll be back.
Well, it all depends what we mean by good times…
Are U from Montreal?
No I’m in the UK
I also saw this ad in the October edition of the (American Express) Departures Magazine – I think is a great audience for potential US Saab customers and for the 9-4x. I think Saab should target higher end womenâs magazines as well. Some of the advanced safety features we heard about on the a-pillar, etc. would be good to start mentioning on the 9-4. Finally, I think there is no need for more tag linesâŚjust âSAABâ would be best.
I agree. SAAB is the message and women will love this truck, ehr, car, ehr CUV, ehr SUV, ehr SAAB!
.
SAAB need to concentrate on making certain ALL their adds use SAAB and not Saab…..Somehow the lower case not shout the same as upper case.
Re the add; I remember reading this in 1987, when I bought my 9000SE airflow[nee; Carlsson]
TO CLARIFY:
Re the add; I remember………………….refers to;

I think the ad is great.
I really like the sketch, it says all about the Saab. Wouldn’t it great to somehow incorporate the sketch in to a TV commercial? Either as a animated figure or someone reenacting the actual sketching.
This ad is great! Well designed and well executed.
Crew: sorry to be off topic, but…I haven’t been able to reach your crew email for a long time now, and I figured you’d appreciate knowing that Mitchell Saab/Volvo is hosting their annual Swedish Beauty Contest soon. I think that this would make a good post… Link is here.
