This is not a Toppola, but maybe its predecessor. A Toppola is more something like this.
It is the best combination of a camper and a Saab hatch (call it 99, 900, 9000 or 9-3). This intelligent idea seems to have some fans in Japan, but they have used another car as basis.
The Japanese company called Camp-Inn has presented at the current Tokyo Auto show a modern version of the Toppola using a Toyota Prius as the basis. This add-on for the Prius is called Relax Cabin.
Look at the pictures and decide by yourself if this is a worthy successor of the Toppola.
Remember this is a product for the Japanese market where sometimes the Hotel rooms are slightly smaller than this. π
The 4th & 5th Pictures are quite neat [non Saab 2nd & 3rd pictures].
Who stole Elvis’s hair?
Hahaaaaa π
How about that; a crappy Toyota with a big d… on its roof…. :-O
Aaaahahahaha!
Took me forever to figure out what you meant by “d…”. Only when I looked at the picture did I get it! π
That is a nasty looking design. I guess you’d need b—s to drive around in something like that….
Rune,
you should look down a little bit more often. π
Well, after this experience I am not quite sure I’d want to do that ever again! π
That was really, really nasty! Fun, but nasty!
my sportcombi looks more comfy…
It’s Top Gear! Although their choices weren’t as cool.
So..Compared to Toppola:
Where’s the kitchen, the heating system and the dining table?
The last pic shows hog ugly it is haha.
First (Saab) picture is the best ! π
What`s up with having a tent on the roof on the car!? Seems odd to say the least. I mean, generally there is THE GROUND to use for that purpose. The inventors must live somewhere where it rains constantly or somewhere where the campingsites are really really crowded. Bye bye cW 0,32 if they were to drive around like that! π
The car in the b/w photo participated in IntSaab2011, and it looked very cool.
I guess putting the tent on the roof is a great idea, in particular if the ground
is wet or covered by roots and cones…
No, they didn’t drive it like that. π
The red 9-3 picture….anyone notice one of those red GM cars in the back ground ( red skip) !!!!
