Just under a year ago Jason introduced you all to Chris Redmond and his Classic 900 project, https://www.saabsunited.com/2013/02/saab-restoration-projects.html .
Chris was also featured in the Practical Classics Magazine from here in the UK and now he has a chance to have his 900 on their stand in November. Chris’s T16S has been to the show before, on the SOC stand but it would be great to see it their again and good for Saab to be featured on such a prominent stand.
A few words from Chris
“Hello All
As most of you are aware my 900 T16S restoration was featured in Practical Classics Magazine last year.
As it was a readers restoration feature in the magazine it’s been entered into a competition for me to win the coveted Practical Classics Restorer of the year award with a prize of £2200 worth of garage equipment.
There are 25 entries and the final 10 will be displayed at the NEC show where visitors will choose the overall winner.

I am glad your car is in the running Chris. It would have been a tough choice otherwise.
Looking at that list was as boring as going to an “American car show”. Nothing but Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, and Challengers. Except in the UK it’s always Triumphs, MGs, Land Rovers, and Morris’. Really loved seeing your Saab on the lineup, truly a special car worth saving in the sea of mediocrity, as well as worthy of winning a nice new set of tools to keep her on the road! Best of luck.
It will be great to see Chris`s SAAB at the show, but I`d hesitate to call MGs and Triumph TRs mediocre!
What I mean is the selection is mediocre. As amazing as any one type of car may be variety is the spice of life! It’s nice to have a few off brands when going to a car show, cars that you don’t normally see well maintained or restored.
Chris,
How could I not vote for the smart 900 I followed round the Marches last June ? … so the deed is done …’hope you make it.
All the Best,
Mark
Thanks Mark, What a great weekend that was, awesome! look forward to seeing you and Carol soon!
Thank you for restoring this beautiful car. Its a Saab I never had a chance to drive and to me is everything a Saab should be. Long may she live! 🙂
Done…. but #24 is a hot competitor as well…
