Through our Facebook page we just received an email that kind of blew me away. Christopher Mills from the UK has been inspired by DJA 880 to the point of trying to recreate it with his 2008 9-3. Below are pictures and his explanation of how it came to be. Very impressive Christopher and what a labor of love.
I own a 2008 Saab 9-3 1.9Tid. I bought it in December 2012 as a box standard Airflow model. (Due to insurance) After seeing DJA 880 (the last Saab) I wanted a goal to make mine look as close to it as possible. So I did! I started off with a duel exhaust system and a couple of interior parts to start me off. In May 2012 I ordered a set of ULA 88 alloys.
In July 2013, I decided it was time to get the front Griffin bumper parts. It took weeks trying to get a hold of the parts. Thanks to Neo Brothers for supplying me the skin. After a Month and a half and the bumper all painted it was ready to be fitted.
The car looks as close to the 9-3 Griffin as I can do at the moment. I do not know anybody else in the United Kingdom to get this upgrade and I am very happy with it. I have lots of photos of the build I want to share with you.
It would be great if you could do a read up on this for the SaabsUnited blog. Also I am in the making of my own blog which will be full of Saab stuff shortly!
