Saab Museum movie – take a look at the past before we hear about the future

In just over two hours, GM should issue a press release about the Koenigsegg deal. What we’ve heard overnight from the Swedish media will then be official and we can (hopefully) expect to learn a bit more about Saab’s future.
Before all that happens, though, I’d encourage you to sit back, relax, and take in a short movie about the Saab Museum.
Jorrit is a Saab enthusiast from Holland. He recently recorded the Saab Performance Team’s run at Spa, in Belgium. That film ended up featuring at the Saab Newsroom.
This new film is about his visit to the Saab Museum in Trollhattan, back in July this year. It’s around 8 minutes of Saaby goodness and should get you primed up and in the right mood for all the future stuff we’ll hear about shortly.
Click here to watch the movie.
Great soundtrack, too!
Thanks to Jorrit for the heads-up and to Ted (in comments) for the reminder.

You make the news – Hägglund vs Koenigsegg edition

I thought I’d throw one of the “You make the news” entries up here once again.
Koenigsegg Group Chairman, Augie Fabela, is in the news due to an apparent appointment to meet with the Swedish Government today in an attempt to provide some further reassurance about the K-Segg proposition and financial position.
The government want this reassurance and proof prior to deciding whether or not to support Saab by way of loan guarantees.
I don’t know if he’d be seeing Jöran Hägglund or Maud Olofsson, but I’m quite sure the outcome of the meeting is pretty important.
If Hägglund stays true to current form, there’ll also likely be some sort of comment, maybe even a joint press conference if we’re really lucky.
If so – you make the news.
Comments are open.

JAJ on Saab and GM’s bankruptcy filing

Saab have recorded a video with Jan-Ake Jonsson in response to GM’s bankruptcy filing from earlier today.
I was going to add this to the “you make the news” post below, but I wanted people who have trouble watching video to be able to comment there, hence this separate post.
Readers with Internet Explorer sometimes have trouble watching video on this site. If that’s you, please click here to watch the video directly at the Saab Newsroom or here to watch it on Youtube. Note you will not be able to read comments on this entry either (as that would involve viewing the full entry, including the video)
If you’re using Firefox or another browser that’s OK with video here, then the video awaits you after the jump.

Behind the scenes of Saab’s new media campaign

Saab are beginning a new promotional campaign in Sweden today.
They took a handheld camera with them as they filmed the new ads and have been kind enough to send through a copy of the film.
It’s quite short, but will give you a feel for some of the imagery you’ll see in the next little while from Saab. Looks great!
Here’s a still.
If you have trouble watching video on this site, then click here to watch the clip direct on Youtube.
If you can watch video OK here, then the video is waiting for you after the jump.
