SOTW 96 in Blue

This weeks SOTW has been chosen by me and is a Saab on display at the Bristol Classic Show here in Somerset this weekend.

The owner, Andy Deans, came down from Fife in Scotland to take part. He has only owned the car for just under a year but loves it.

First registered in August 1978 and lived near Gothenburg until the V4 was imported into the UK.

Since Andy has owned her he has fitted a re-conditioned engine, fitted new carpets and re-upholstered the seats in leather.

If you happen to visit The Bath and West this weekend be sure to say hi.

This is exactly how Erik Carlsson felt!

Wow. Every now-and-then you stumble across cool stuff that you just have to share. This is definitely one of those times.
From the YouTube page of Anders Jensen (Jensen96) comes this fantastic in-car video of him racing in the 2009 Danish Historic Rally series. It is simply sensational to see how he handles his 1964 Saab Sport two-stroker through the race course. Wait until the end to see how things turn.
According to the video, this took place at the Knutsdorp Raceway on May 17, 2009.

The caption from Jensen96:

1st round of the 2009 Danish Historic Championchips when I got hit by a blind danish driver in the first heat. Needles to say but there where no more racing for me that weekend.
The car: a 844cc Saab Sport from 1964.
The driver: Anders Jensen, Borås MK

Absolutely amazing! My hat is off to you, sir!
