The 2018 edition Saab CabrioChallenge was driven for the 11th time in a row, and even this year we got a report and great photos from our old friend Mioh! Thanks for sharing this with us! 🙂

The 2018 edition of Saab CabrioChallenge took place 10th-12th of August. This event has been driven annually since 2008 and even this year it attracted a large number of happy and pleasant Saab-enthusiasts. The meeting started lightly on Friday evening pĂ„ “TvĂ„ Skyttlar” with a common dinner for those who were in place the day before the start of the rally.
Saturday morning we all gathered at breakfast, and after that set up for this years group image. (This year the theme was “Organized Chaos”). After the photosession, welcome greeting and distribution of roadbooks the roofless Saabs rolled out on the roads through beautiful Halland. Along the way to the final destination Tylösand trees, churches, radio-station with thunder and seafood-lunch, meadows, ice cream-shops and waterways were passed. After many lovely miles, our final destination Tylösands Tylö Sun was reached. In the evening we all gathered in the hotel’s large hall where dinner was served to us. Here we enjoyed the whole evening of good food and a nice atmosphere in a true “Saabanda”.
Sunday morning started with a hearty breakfast before checkout. Sundays activity consisted of a visit to Svedinos aviation and car museum. We was all very happy and thanked eachother for a nice weekend and the organizers welcomed us all to the Saab CabrioChallenge 2019!

This years CabrioChallenge took place in a glorious sunshine, on the west coast of Sweden, on Saturday August 16th. CabrioChallenge is a annually event since 2008, and this year it attracted a large number of happy and pleasant Saab enthusiasts from Sweden and Norway.

The meeting jumped the gun a litle easy Friday night in HĂ„verud with a dinner for those who were at location the evening before the start.

On Saturday morning we were all gathered at the aqueduct in HĂ„verud. After the welcome greeting, a light breakfast and distribution of the roadbook the topless Saabs was heading westbound, to the coast. On the roads though Dalsland we were passing churches, lakes, some mooses, petroglyphs and two very short rain showers.
cabriochallenge004_2014_02Note: In the right speed it’s no problem to ride topless in even heavy rain. However, a problem can occur when you have to slow down because speed limits or traffic in front of you…

In Grebbestad we saw the sea for the first time during this meeting, and then we followed the coast southbound. On some beautiful roads on the mainland next to the coastline we drive through villages like FjÀllbacka, Hamburgsund, Bovallstrand och Hunnebostrand. When we arrived Kungshamn the lunch was served a few meters from the sea with Smögen in sight. Here we also take the now obligatory group photo.

After lunch and the photo-shoot we drove through BohuslĂ€ns hilly landscape to the final destination for the day; Vann Spa (“Water Spa”) at FĂ€rlevfjorden. Here we enjoyed rexaxing baths, good food and a nice atmosphere the entire evening in a true Saab spirit!

Sunday morning started with a dip in the sea, and a real breakfast. After that we checked out we headed in a convoy for Saabs home-town, TrollhÀttan. In TrollhÀttan we visited Saab Car Museum and tasted the Saab Ice Cream the museum sells.

Satisfied and happy the participants thanked for themselves, and the organizers Anna, Fredrik, Lena, Andreas, Jessica and Mikael thanked the participants for a great weekend and wished everyone welcome to Saab CabrioChallenge 2015, scheduled to SmÄland and with a end somewhere at the east coast.
