Visit to Nürburgring in Germany

Hi!

Some of us in the Saab Turbo Club of Sweden will travel to visit the Nürburgring race track in Germany during the spring.
We will stay at hotel Am Tiergarten during Thursday 1st of May up to Sunday the 4th of May.
If anyone within the Saabsunited network would like to join us you are most welcome to do so 🙂

We will arrive on the evening on the 1st of May, and leave on the morning on the 4st of May.

We discuss the trip here:
http://forum.saabturboclub.com/showthread.php/123925-Biläventyr-till-Nürburgring-2014
Unfortunately it is in Swedish.

Hope to see as many Saabs as possible at the Nürburgring during these days!

SAAB of The Week

This week our SAAB of the week could really be called SAABs of the week. This is the photo sent to us from Gunnar and is of a nice sized fleet of 9-5s at the Munich airport in Germany. He saw five in total while waiting for his connecting flight at the home of BMW. SAAB has had a history of being used in the service industry and it is nice to see some still performing their duties and doing it well. Thanks to Gunnar for sending the photo and as always, please keep the photos coming to [email protected]

Saab German dealer Tour 2011

Yesterday I received an invitation from my dealership. I’m invited to preview the 9-4x and the 9-5 SC on German soil and have some chat with him an other Saab owners.

He knows that I write at SU and that already know those cars, but he also knows that I could spend years simply sitting besides one of those cars 🙂

But yesterday evening Tom from Saabblog.net that his is not only happening at my dealership, but it is a tour organized by Saab Germany and will visit many German dealerships.

The tour will last two weeks starting on the 24th of October in northern Germany and will go southwards. It seems that there will be 2 sets of cars as some of the dates do overlap.

The schedule is incomplete as some of the dealers haven#t confirmed the date yet.

German Snippets

TimR has presented me as the German part of SaabsUnited, and as such I will take care of the German speaking Saab market, and maybe other things. 😉

So let’s get started with some snippets.

I promised Swade I would get this on-line. It is from Till72

Hi Swade,
I met with Alexandros yesterday and we intend to establish a regular Saab “Stammtisch” for Munich and the region. Those who are interested please contact me via till (at) tilldrescher.de so we can set a first date and location.

Munich Saabers get in contact with Till72.

And talking about Till72, he and me are preparing and interview with Mr. Schumacher, and I’m not talking about the F1-driver. I’m talking about JPS (Jan-Philipp Schumacher), the new Country Director for Germany.

Don’t worry, I will try to get some interviews with the country directors from Switzerland and Austria.

I don’t think I will do this many more times, but once should be OK.

Since Geneva I’ve been reading a German Saab Blog, which I like very much.

So, if you have already read all the posts at SaabsUnited, and you speak the German language, and you are still searching for new Saab information, you may take a look at saabblog.net, they have at least another point of view.

And at last, Germany has got only 20 9-3 Independence Edition, although they are only 20 the German dealers were allowed to order the Full Monty. In the list you can find the TTiD180 engine and the Bio-Power 220 engine with either a manual or an automatic gearbox.

Not like the UK or Spain, where only the TTiD 180 diesel engine with an automatic transmission will be delivered.

Press release: New sales directors for USA and Germany

In Germany Jan-Philipp Schuhmacher has been appointed as new Country Director for Saab Germany. He comes from Land Rover Germany where he was National Sales Manager over the past two years.

Is this the vengeance for Hallmark ??? 😉

And in the USofA Mr. James Sweeting has also been appointed as new executive national sales director. He comes from Honda USA. I don’t know how Honda is performing in the states, so lets wait what he can do to get the sales figures high.

Both press releases after the jump.

Thanks to TedY and rodmylon for the hints.
