Photochop Saab – 2010 Saab 9-5 coupe!!!

How about this for a nice addition to the Saab 9-5 range in the years to come?
I got this via email from a young engineering student in the UK named Serj.

I had some spare time from my studies and decided to produce a concept car on photoshop. Incidently im actually studying for a building engineering degree, not a automotive design degree, but photoshop is kind of a hobby! After seeing Tiago’s awesome attempt at the NG95 i decided to produce a 95c, a coupe version. The 9-X air provided most of the Saab like features lights, wheels etc and a 95 spyshot was used for the base length and height of the car. After a days work i finally finished it and thought you would be interested in a look…

And I am interested. In fact, I really, really like the idea.
Here’s the photochop, which you can click to enlarge.

Now, there are some odd lines and proportions around the back, the roof and the front, but get past those and the idea of a large coupe based on what we’ve seen in terms of 9-5 illustrations is a very appealing one.
I’m not sure it’s on their agenda, but I’d be very happy if it was.
Thanks a bunch to Serj for the image and the idea!!

Why Saab and Volvo won’t merge….

I can’t remember the site where I saw this, but I immediately threw up and then downloaded it for a rainy day.
Actually, there is something appealing about the elongated body, but that mid section is more messed up than Britney Spears.
And whilst I’m dealing with strange things, here’s something Robin M sent through from a past issue of Saab Scene magazine, in the UK:
Ay Carumba!!!

2010 Saab 9-5 photochop

Auto Motor and Sport in Sweden have posted a new photoshop CGI of what they believe is the forthcoming Saab 9-5, which will be a 2010 model year vehicle released for sale late in 2009. The illustration is from an outfit called Schulte Design, who apparently make a habit of being very close to the real thing in their renderings.
There’s a story there too, for those who read Swedish, but I’m told there’s nothing additional to what we’ve already heard. It’s basically a summary article of all the 9-5 news that AMS have collected in the last year (which has all been posted here, too).
Click to enlarge, and if you’re a Swede-reader, click through to AMS for the full story. That AMS link will also get you access to a version twice the size of the one I’ve posted here.

My thanks to Par Brandt at AMS for the tip!
